I know of a guy who was disabled and was on disability. He was charged with disability fraud and the state brought pictures and video of the guy working in his yard, shopping and other activities where he appeared to have no trouble getting around. It looked like an open and shut case, until the guy came to court with the help of his identical twin brother. It was his brother in all the pictures. His bother doing his yard work and his shopping for him because he couldn't do it. The judge was pissed, saying that it was known the man had a twin brother, but they just assumed it was him.

@@melissadehart9306 What good is backpay when you have lost everything IE: House, Car etc... while waiting to receive what is rightly due you. SSDI is not welfare. Every working person pays for this insurance. I find it disgusting how people who become disabled have this extra added stress heaped onto them, for no good reason other than our government doesn't want to pay out what we working people have paid for through the decades. FYI ... 99% of SSDI applicants have to hire an attorney, of which 25% of the back pay due you is paid to the attorney. How long can you survive without an income, one year, a year and a half? Most likely far less. People who scam the system should go to prison and be mandated to pay back every penny back with interest, but don't throw everyone under the bus just because of a few bad apples.

However, as I mentioned it's expensive to get those exams for the patients & I'm sure for the government. It's also very stressful. It actually isn't as easy as people think to get on disability. I personally have so many doctors & health issues that it was sufficiently proven I was disabled but I know others who only have 1 or 2 disabilities/ disabling issues that have had a very hard time applying & getting approved & they may even need a lawyer to appeal multiple times. And I'm talking about truly disabled people. I think because of the frauds like these it has made it such a hard process for them, the truly disabled. So upsetting!

I went Blind for 7 years. I had to go through blind school in Seattle. As a blind person, you know the layout of your house, how many steps from where you are to where you’re going. Your “Stick” (Blind cane) gives you a LOT of feedback on the types of terrain, stairs, what’s around you. Other than writing checks or reading your bills, you can function very independently. Computer’s have programs in which it can read to you. Other computer programs allow you to speak to your computer and it’ll type whatever you want. This idiot who claimed to be blind deserves prison with a mandatory blindfold until he’s released.

But there are descriptive shows now. Therefore, to be more correct in language terms you are "watching" the show. It's just a small thing, but dammit it means so much!

this goes on a lot in england, people on disability and living a good life with holidays abroad, nice cars etc etc. i had osteoarthritis in my left hip and suffered every day. i evan worked a ten hour shift as a cook in a carehome every saturday and sunday, struggling to walk and evan in more pain at the end of my shift. i applied for pip and was told that i need to come for a face to face interview, i decided to pull out and cancel my claim for pip as i was told by a couple of people that evan tho i'm struggling to walk, those pen pushers behind their desks would say but you can walk. so i wasn't willing to give them the satisfaction of turning me down for my request for help and the pip payment, i finally got my hip replacement as it was canceled twice due to covid and i'm so much better and able to walk with no pain and discomfort. there are so many people on disability milking the system and it's those corrupt disability cheats that spoil it for the genuine people. so glad these people in this video have been caught out and having to pay it all back, and rightly so as it's hard workers tax money....

I have all the documentation and have sent it in again. Hopefully this time I get it, but even if I do the most I can receive is 880 a month. That's less than minimum wage. If I didn't have great family members that help I would still be homeless. I really just want the insurance so hopefully I can find a decent doctor so I can get help with the pain. Just keep appealing and appealing again and again. They always deny right from the start and it can take years before they finally take your case seriously, I had to go through this and my brother used to work for a disability determination office that dealt with military members, when he looked into cases that were sincere he wanted to approve them but he got in trouble because they wanted him to deny them because they had a quota to meet. They will deny people that have had their arms and legs blown off, its ridiculous. Be persistent and consider writing a letter to the head office (in Virginia I believe) on why they should approve you, don't bother with a lawyer, they just get a huge chunk of your money and you can already do what they can (gather records and so on), they will also drag your case out as long as they can so they collect a bigger percentage of your back pay once you're approved.

Twenty years ago I worked with a man, whose friend had a degenerative eye disease, that really did make him blind. To a certain extent that is. They said legally blind wasn't totally blind, & it could mean a lot of things.

They took until Oct. 2021 to approve me. Did I get a huge retroactive check for the months between filing and approval? HELL NO! They said I wasn't disabled until July 2021 and that I had to remain disabled for 5 months after they determined I was disabled, before I get my first check. And even then, it's an additional month for that first check to arrive so I didn't start collecting until April 2022. I bet the people in this video got approved in an instant.

It's people like that that ruin it for disabled people. My husband was disabled. It started out as crohns disease and progressed into numerous ailments. Disability denied him year after year and we lost everything, house, furniture, kids toys, you name it. When he went to his last disability hearing the judge asked him why he was so tan. My husband stated that because he could no longer drive that our doctor told him to get out to sit on the porch and get some sun for the benefits. People were watching him because they said he " looked " too healthy. He finally got his disability but it was too late. He had renal failure, adrenal gland failure, spinal deterioration, crohns disease, etc. By the time it was all said and done, my husband was in a hospital bed in the livingroom unable to wipe his own butt or shower without my assistance. Sadly he died april 18, 2013 just 3 days before his 37th birthday. Everyone thought that because he was such a big guy that he was faking it. My children are now without a father. The youngest were 5 and 7 at the time.

@suzanne Baker I disagree, of course there are going to be thieves looking to get over. But when the system requires you to hire and attorney to get YOUR MONEY, yes YOUR MONEY. You pay into SS your entire working life. And you have to fight tooth and nail to get the money you paid in? The SS system is a bad joke. Also the punishment for those to scam the system is far too lenient.

His wife was pushing a lawnmower. I asked him if his wife was ok now, He told me that there was never anything wrong with his wife and they had lied about the injury, not only that he bragged that he bribed the Doctor to falsify the paperwork. I wrote a letter to the Social Security Administration, I know they received it because I sent it by certified mail and someone had to sign for it. I also see insurance companies cutting coverage when therapists and clinical staff state they are not ready to leave treatment...but they have a doctor spend 10 minutes looking over case and saying no....with many of these people leaving treatment to relapse or die from suicide, happens more than people know.

She was an alcoholic and addicted to opioids. She was getting opioids from a doctor in Lincoln city, OR, and a pain clinic in Bullhead City, AZ. She finally got a appointment with a SSDI Judge in 2018. The Judge can see all the doctors she was getting opioids from and the addiction is what’s causing the pain. She’s a con artist and thinks she can talk anyone into doing what she wants. I don’t know if she received SSDI, or not.

Many private investigators such as myself work for large investigative firms who largely specialize in workman's compensation fraud. Generally an accident happens in the workplace, someone "pads" the claim (meaning they overexaggerate their restrictions/disabilities so they can get disability pay), and once red flags are drawn on their profile (such as not responding in a timely manner, changes in story, social media activity showing blatant disregard for their restriction. etc.), the insurance companies request surveillance. It's a very rewarding job when you have a successful case. I've had probably 20 successful cases in the past 2 years, and you'd be surprised how dumb a lot of these criminals are lol. If you claim you have a lifting restriction of 5 pounds and need to wear a brace on your right wrist, you better be wearing it in public and living within that restriction, but many are careless and oblivious to the fact they're being surveilled

I had a coworker who claimed that he fell in a hole at work and was disabled. We had video footage of him tripping and walking around unharmed right after. He had been vocal about preexisting injuries from other jobs and how it affected him. We also had documentation proving that those issues weren’t from working with us. He was still awarded disability and our company had to contribute to the disability check. No on was interested in watching the video or documentation to show that he was working the system. The HR did receive a call demanding that we create a job for him that would fit within the limitations that his doctor gave. He couldn’t bend over and look through files. He wasn’t supposed to sit for long periods of time.

How can a person live the "high life" on these payments? In Ontario, people receive $1260 a month to live the "high life". Are these payments so fantastic? I'd really like to know how much a single, person with a disability receives per month & is it different in each state? Thanks

My neighbor got disability after 2 years of unemployment. He was obese but able to work. But after 5 more years of sitting home, he ate himself up to 600 pounds and almost lost his foot to diabetes. Now he's in a nursing home. The doctor that signed destroyed his life.

I know of people who are in their 20s, who were in devastating car accidents getting about 3000.00 a month. And then I heard of dying people on chemo getting 900.00 after government takes their share for hospital bills. So sad how greedy people can be. I hope they catch all of the lying bad guys.

@@OneWeirdDudeIt's possible to be blind and still have pupils react to changing light conditions... Blindness is not just seeing black/nothing, in many cases they can see their environment's brightness, but the picture is too blurry to make out things while the pupils dilate and constrict to light just fine. There are many situations where the doctor cannot determine if the patient can see or not, and has to rely solely on his patient's word. I think it's just the patient here that's lying ;)

I'm with you there. But we don't need financial help for being blind in one eye. I've been blind in my right eye since the optic nerve was blown off my retina during a car accident in 1973. It alters some lifestyle desires, but for the most part, doesn't hinder my ability for an income. The guy should not have gotten any SSDI compensation for loss of eyesight in one eye.

I had to have my doctor, two hospitals telling how I can't work. This is going 2 years with no money waiting until I can have a court case. Some people gets disability at a drop of a hat. This makes it so hard for people like me having to survive on $1000 a month. Try living on that. I use to make good money but what the gov. thinks I should live on. My husband works after surgery on both knees, both surgeries, a knee replacement and rhumitoid artritious, (can't spell it). He still works because we can't afford for both of us to be on disability. I feel like crap because I can't get a job and help my family. Don't look at someone on disability and think they look ok, because you don't know whats wrong with them. I destroyed my hand and it help together by metal, but thats not the worst. They gave my a antibiotic that I have never taken so how would I know I was alergic to it? It cooked my intestines. Same sympton as sever Chroms. Since it's not Chromes the med's don't work. Try crapping what you eat 5 minutes after you eat it. I almost died and after a long hospital stay they realized nothing works. Guess what the side effects of pain meds are? Constipation. I have never been so happy to be stopped up in my life. I had rather dig poop out than crap 25 times a day and have no energy to get out of bed. Sorry this is so long but I REALLY don't have a life and only see my family and sometimes it get hard so I talk (type) way to much, Sorry🙃
