Although I’m happy for this family, I think there is some confusion here regarding whether this child was truly “brain dead”. It takes longer than fifteen minutes for someone to be declared brain dead. The brain must show inactivity for a substantial period of time and multiple tests must be performed by hospital staff before someone can be deemed “brain dead”. It sounds like the doctors were preparing this family for the worst, explaining various scenarios and discussing organ donation in the event he did not survive; but if he was truly brain dead, he would not have woken up. People don’t come back from brain death.

@@joshhihey no one can recover from being brain dead, as it is the same as being dead. We haven’t yet worked out how to bring the dead back to life.. I am sure mistakes can be made in diagnosing brain death but that’s highly unlikely, it’s a process of assessment that takes a lot of time. Physical changes from scans will show the brain breaking down and liquefying over a few days and weeks if need be. The EEG will be totally blank as well What you do get is doctors encouraging families to pull the plug early on as it’s perhaps kinder to allow nature to take its course rather than allowing someone with a deeply traumatic brain injury to live a terrible bed ridden existence as a vegetable. We don’t put our pets through what we think is acceptable for humans, based on an inability to face reality and accept someone is likely to die and prolonging death to avoid heartache isn’t the compassionate response. Occasionally, we get a miracle recovery when life support is removed and that’s great, especially when a meaningful recovery is made like Trenton. But he was never brain dead it seems - the media are being unhelpful and conflating / equating a coma with brain death.

They call the term brain dead is a lie. When in fact they were not brain dead in the first place. Doctors should stop mentioning brain death too early and something must be done to stop those kind of videos to be spread

Trenton is right, God is responsible! I was in a coma after my traumatic brain injury. The lowest you can go and even still be considered alive. Remained there for weeks. Mother was told I wouldn't survive, I would never have mental abilities, I would need 24/7 care if I did even survive and recommended removal from life support. My momma told them "you don't know the power of God nor her fierce determination". 3 weeks later I took my first breath, 11 years later I live totally independent, I serve HIM by paying my life forward by helping thousands of other survivors online, 365 days a year. Brain death often results from inflammation and hydrostatic pressure on the surface of the brain ( cerebral cortex ) due to activation of glial ( microglia ) cells and their high reactive oxidation by products. In cold temperature, neurons require less oxygen due to low neuronal metabolism. The brain can maintain low levels of metabolism for many hours, this is usually below the detection limits of electrical transducers. If the heart is stopped, the oxygen pressure within the arteries falls to such a low level that stored oxygen is released from myoglobin within muscles. The neurons of children, general have a higher degree of plasticity than adults, they also have more pluripotent stem cells, and growth factors within their blood plasma that induces healing at a much faster rate than the average adult. True cellular death occurs when the cell induces packets of protein digestive enzymes ( caspases, granzymes ) to be released which break apart other proteins within the cell; proteolysis.

Okay, but if he was actually brain dead how did he come back to life? If a heart stops you can be revived if your brain is not dead. The organ harvesting industry tells us that unlike a stopped heart, it is IMPOSSIBLE to recover from "brain death". Either they are dead wrong or doctors are lying about being able to properly determine when "brain death" has occurred. Given that, by law, organs can only be donated free of charge, all of the profits from transplants go to the specialists and corporations involved. Organ donation propaganda makes it seem absolutely certain that there is no way to come back once organ donation is to proceed: www.donorrecovery.org/learn/understanding-brain-death/

Why? Trenton was never brain dead. He had suffered a serious injury and his parents decided to pull the plug rather than risk a long slow death by coma. Luckily Trenton healed himself and is recovering - great news!but he always had a chance, even a small one. Archie is brain dead, he died months ago and his body is being kept artificially alive because his parents find it too painful to do their duty and allow his body to shut down and die too. All we ever hear is from his parents, which will be one sided and their narrative. Rightly we the public do not get full sight of the evidence presented to the judges, patient confidentiality is a thing and Archie’s parents can spin any narrative they want in public knowing full well the true version of events will never be released to the public (unless there’s an inquest). They are in a very difficult and painful situation and I can empathize with their need to not be responsible for their sons death and to have someone else (the medics and judges) to blame. There is no doubt that they are struggling with one of the worst decisions a parent will ever be called on to make, I cannot imagine for a second how harrowing this must be and all my compassion is with them. However the courts have seen all the medical evidence and evidence from Archie’s family, I think two or maybe three different judges have examined everything now from all angles. What is best for Archie is that his body is released from an undignified zombie state and allowed to die. The judges have consistently made 100% the right decision.

@@Lagw1020 And thats brain activity. I heard that 10 minutes of no HEART activity is pretty much certain death. Fifteen minutes is a long time for something like this.

I will investigate the hospital for illegal organ transplants because no one can be declared brain dead in 15 minutes. In my country, at least four doctors have to certify patient as brain dead after two 6 hour intervals and many tests have to be completed to verify the patient is at a point of no return. So thecertification will at least take 12 hours. This seems like a case where the hospital was rushing to declare the patient as brain dead so they can transplant his organs in some wealthy donors.

Archie has been declared brain dead and this has been tested in court multiple times. Trenton when you look into what detail you can find was never declared brain dead, he was believed to be so badly hurt he would die once life support was removed, and his doctors persuaded his parents that removing life support was the kindest option. It just so happened that Trenton was able to recover. If he had been brain dead he never would have done - you cannot ever recover from brain death, sometimes you can come back from a coma however. Archie will never come back - he is gone.

Thank you for sharing this❤❤🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 it gives me hope. My sister had seizure Thursday and hit her head. She was out about 20 min and pronounced brain dead.. her body started keeping her blood pressure stable without meds then we found out her tubing/ Trachea was put in wrong for hrs. Before that, her face was not swollen much. Now it's so swollen and praying it goes back down!🙏🏽 And praying blood flows back to her brain and God protects her organs.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 God is still in the healing business.

Brain dead should be diagnosed with a perfusion scan which involves looking at blood flow in the brain. You can start testing with older methods but preference is the perfusion scan to be sure
