I met Abe accidentally at a Sam Ash in passing in (Philly)? Anyhow, he accidentally stepped on my brand new Air Force 1's, but I had to let that go, he's Abe (Friggin) Cunningham. It was my pleasure

Abe one of my all time favorite drummers. My other favorites are Jazz/Prog greats, like Gavin Harrison, Carter Beauford, Neil Peart, Maro Minneman, Antonio Sanchez. Abe doesn't have the chops of drummers on that but he stands out in the heavy genres for his strong groove, unmistakable style, and always musical playing. Never overly flashy or gimmicky working perfectly with the music. Huge part of the Deftones sound. RIP Chi

oh Abe bruh, one day I was practicing with my old band in 2019, and we stopped and came out for a break, this dude in the hall who could hear us but not see us asked who was the drummer, and then he said, you sound/play like Deftones. What a lovely thing to hear but let me be clear to everyone,, I play for the love of the art and life, thatś it, and I may, just may play 0.0000001% of Abe`s drumming style. Needless to say, I wish I could play just 1% of Abe`s drumming. Fucking Bad Brains....
