I like Abegen's team. He's really optimized all of the combos, and plus it's like the most durable team in the universe. It takes like an hour to kill all of these characters. What is it like 3.5 million health?

God, I love watching games like this being played. Honestly, it's more fun watching two people that know what they're doing rather than flailing about trying to figure things.

I can't tell if Yipes knows what he's doing, he's such a fuckin spazz with the characters he plays, contrasting with abegen's slower, more controlled team.

I dunno, I respect what your saying, but I'd argue he's ready for the grab... i.e. when Vergil was dashing pushing opponent towards the round trip, Yipes Stopped, saw the frame where she hulk was in neutral frame and probably had his finger on the heavy button... I freeze framed the teleports and Mags beam has more active frames than the recovery of Vergils teleport, so if anyone is getting the grab Assuming timing is close, its vergil.. So a tech there isn't entirely unbelievable there either.

I will agree with you on that. There are things that Capcom can do to better balance those characters, and not everyone can adapt to cheap tactics. I agree Vergil needs some toning down, but I really, really think the nerfs people want for Vergil will make him Hsien-Ko tier. I'm sure there is a better way to balance the character than I know how to, but I do agree with you, that much is certain.

I know Yipes' team or at least the players are widely used but damn he's not just using the strengths of the characters, that man is nuts in sync when he gets into this mode... very precise, air dashing evade or attack with Dante constantly reading the situation... its nuts how he really has no limits with this team in terms of execution but goes autopilot Seemingly* with all the right decisions. But yea Abegan is incredible, great tech... but his teams normal's just aren't there vs MagMayCry.

hisen-ko is good.... for a godlike assist. I think what he means is that all characters are viable for a position on a team that can make that team good. You can run Felicia Hisen-ko tron and you can make it work one way or another. As you can see from Abegen, he obviously made a team of non overused characters and made them work somehow.

aka. Big bodies. On another note She-Hulk's up-grab super. You can't do shit about it if you're directly above her including X-factoring out. And while she's in X-factor she throws you so furiously it eats away over half your life and she can combo afterwards. Sick.

It's kinda saddening to know that most players use Vergil because he is broken. Not many people play him for fun or for the fact that he's cool. They play him purely because he is extremely. I'm not going to lie, I have sort of a top tier team but I knew nothing of my characters for awhile. (Wesker, Dormammu, Vergil.) But I like them because they're fun to play, and I like them from they're games, comics, ect...

In my opinion Vergil's use will only increase from here. He is the best character in the game. He provides a great assist and can be placed anywhere on a team, he has fast half-screen normals, an automatic cross-up move, swords that force you to block for long amounts of time and can add a crazy amount of damage to combos and can extend for 5 meters, and fast teleports. Until (if) he is fixed his use will only increase in this game. He's broken and hopefully capcom will fix it..

To be fair, Vergil's downfall is the fact that without a good assist backing Vergil up, he really only has a use as an anchor; granted, he is arguably the best anchor in the game (I still say Dark Phoenix is the best anchor) but his low health and lack of a high-low game (Block low against Vergil because he doesn't have an overhead.) limit his capabilities outside of X-Factor. Vergil is easy to kill, but hard to get in on; if you really wanna nerf Vergil, nerf Assists themselves, not Vergil.

I'm not trying to be a troll or anything, but these are some of the reasons why I think Virgil is better than Zero. Zero's a problem, but he dies so fast and most players drop his lightning loops anyway. Just about anyone can pick up Virgil and look like they're better than they are.

"Cheap"er means better ad easier to pull off. Just because a character HAS combo potential doesn't mean they're on par with other characters. Literally, Zero forces you into block stun but can end up on either side of you during incoming, and can practically keep doing that until you slip up and die. Akuma has ToD combos yes, but he doesn't have the tools that these "cheap" characters have.

But it's vergil alone who has the broken anchor power, sword loops and a helm splitter that is safe on block.

1:30 is that escapable at all? seems like if he stayed on the ground he took the lvl 3, and we obviously see what happened when he jumped

Yipes Magnus is one of the best, i wonder how he's do making a a mag point with a Priority Superiou assist to guarentee the starting match grab etc. like captians sheild charge, lol hulk.. who knows a character that he would play tho, maybe spencers armor piercer or air grab... Mag, Spencer and hawkeye or doom... He's the type of player that he can make low tier good, the heavy movement of Ironman, and intricacies he's top alukard i bet, if serious lab time went into it...

He has a fast wave dash, a form with an air dash and combos that do more than 500K without meter. He could never be Hsien-Ko tier lol

The problem with Vergil is that he has far too many moves that go against basic engine rules like hitstun decay, effect stacking and basic chain exploit, this is why he is broken. i wouldn't say he needs lots of nerfs, he just needs to have his moveset normalized. Capcom just make really bad character design decisions sometimes, makes this nice engine full of nice rules that will work really well on paper then creates characters with moves that throws all these out the window.

My point being that if you want to make the game balanced, make everyone overpowered rather than saying 'Nerf this, nerf that too'. That leads to underpowered characters in the long run of things.(Dante, for example, does crap damage now without assists and meter.) Every character needs a tool that makes them good; taking away these tools because you can't work your way around them is a lazy way to fix a problem. Adapt. There are plenty of tutorials about him online. It's not that hard.

I agree with the logic of boosting other characters to compete with the top tiers, but that doesn't mean some of those top tiers are not simply poorly designed. Adapting, no offense, is a terrible argument because while I''m nowhere near the best in Marvel, even the pros like JWong, ChrisG, and FChamp get scrubbed out randomly against vergil and zeroes and I think we all know that they have ALOT of experience fighting those characters. Over all Vergil is terribly imbalanced and needs to be fixed

He was a sandbagging.

No asist point Virgil does a mil with 2.2 meters, with X OTG assist he does 1.1 mil with 0.7 meters. If you save the wall bounce he does 500 damage with 1.5, for the loop DHC. Low damage Hawkeye could kill Thor with this, his bnb & just under 2 meters. He is the best XFactor character in the game and negates Xfactors if he has meter. And your underselling his incoming game, he gets 6+ options off a blocked RT. Marvel may be stupid but Virgil's well beyond that Thats why I main him.

Nerf his meter gain, make his moves not have a fixed hitstun rate, make Helm Breaker unsafe on block; these are changes you want to give Vergil, but in the end, it'd make him a garbage character like everyone thought he was at first. The only sensible nerf there is Nerfing meter gain for him, and it'd be a good change; however, nerfing his sword loops or making his helmet breaker unsafe would ruin his viability. You need to find other methods of rebalancing without ruining the character.

They kinda are though. His normals are very punishable, his teleports are extremely unsafe, he can be grabbed out of everything, and more. Unless Vergil burns meter, x-factor, or has assists making him safe, he's really not that extraordinary. Even his damage is meh without meter extensions plus he doesn't have reliable overhead options. I'm not saying he's bad, far from it. He's definitely top 3. I wouldn't go as far as to say he's broken though :|

Yipes played well but he kept falling for the same She-Hulk grab though.

But some characters are just too good. Zero's incoming mix ups is one of the strongest, If not the strongest in the game. He can turn stray hits into ToD from 90% on the screen. Vergil is a walking 'DHC glitch' that can loop Spiral Swords as long as he has meter. His assist is great. And he forces you into many mix ups. His lvl 3 is likely 3rd best or more. Every character in Marvel has something broken about them. But the most consistent game breaking stuff is considered "broken."

Some of us and people at my locals were saying swords should cost 2 bars but you crown for free. lvl 3 xfactor needs a nerf for sure. and yea that sword range...

I never said he wasn't broken Jr. I'm saying it's not always free HE DOES have draw backs like everyone else. You can't wiff buttons he can be grabbed out of rapid slash you can punish helm breaker by chicken blocking it and some alpha counters can beat spiral swords. Those things alone are enough to make the Vergil match up bearable. There was a never a debate! Do your homework before you decide to pop off

I think I'm done with this game until Vergil gets nerfed. He is stupidly overpowered. Way too much range, insanely fast teleports, moves that don't have hitstun decay, helm splitter, automatic crossup, spiral swords that even when they dont hit you you're blocking for like 30 seconds straight, and totally broken lvl 3 xfactor. And people thought Wesker was bad....

Lol, you can just use logic to show why a character is or isn't good. It has nothing to do with the usage of characters. Top tiers aren't considered good because they are used a lot, they're used a lot because they're top tier. When you have a character like Zero or Vergil that can literally run through a team, forces you to block and be mixed up, and have combos that kill anyone while going meter positive, you know they're good. There are characters that just lack any relevance.

I didnt mean open up mag himself but a lot of "mag " players werent really that hot shit until they ran into another mag player smarter than them. It got to the point Sent started wrecking everyone towards the end of mvc2 days. and CLEARRLYYY I WAS TROLLING lol. But i dont think Vergil needs a nerf.....Thats just my opinion.

I really love to see Abegen playing. His team is not at all one of this tier sucking ones and works amazingly well while he advanced the combos for this team perfectly. Amazing player, unfortunately often overseen

I kinda agree with GameYang considering that I have seen crazy stuff with Dante Doctor doom Akuma Ryu. Which do as much damage as Vergil or Zero combos although they are not as cheap as those lol. Check out CRINALE5 for extreme Dante combos. Check out El Gato for extreme Doom Strange and MODOK combos. Check out SaishuuKessen for extreme Ryu Akuma combos (he doesnt upload much anymore but they are still rare to see)
