CGI wasn’t used in movies until Star Trek: TMP in 1978: prior to this most effects were rotoscoped in, and others were achieved using practical effects. In case you’re wondering, the scene was part of the sequence with Spock entering V’ger. It lasts about half a second, with the model of Spock floating quickly towards the viewer: it looks terrible even though the background was done the normal way (matte painting), hence why they give you no time to process it, but it was a trailblazing moment in movie history and paved the way for today.

Wind Hammer, I had the opportunity many years ago to say hello to Mr. Borgnine, as did many others, at a restaurant here in Bend OR when he came here to purchase a Beaver Coach motor home. There is no sales tax in Oregon. He was very kind and gracious. I did not wish to bother him as I stammered and stuttered that I always enjoyed his work. He said "Thank You" and I apologized for interrupting his meal and promptly walked back to my own table. As my son and I waited outside in the parking lot by the car, Mr. Borgnine emerged from the restaurant walking side by side with my wife, both of them laughing and chatting together. I told him we were going home to watch "The Dirty Dozen." He laughed and said, "Well, Enjoy!" He used to visit the hardware departments in local stores just to visit with the staff. Despite his frequent character portrayals on screen, he was a most friendly, down-to-Earth gentleman.

Here, they have it in the key of B-flat!!! Still sounds as awesome as id did exactly 42-years ago in 1972 when I was 11. I fell instantly in love with Pamela Sue Martin. What a sweetie!!!
