She had incredible presence of mind and composure on-stage... With everything going on around her, she was purposely trying to keep the pack hidden (back of her hand facing the audience) until she could finally get it reattached. This is a clip that will be shown and re-shown many times, including in the future whenever American Idol or Abi Carter career highlights are compiled. Congratulations on a truly memorable performance, Abi!!

One reason why Abi might have handled the mic pack incident so well is because she's an experienced musician (even if her experience isn't on this level), and experienced musicians can handle wardrobe malfunctions better than inexperienced ones. Regardless, she did well enough to move on!

This performance inspired me! Watching her evolve during the show is fantastic. With each new performance, she not only demonstrates raw talent but is also discovering herself as an artist, perfecting her craft, and gaining more confidence. @@robertantonnycBruh...tell me you've never listened to the original version without saying you've never listened to the original version. 🤦🙄 I've actually seen Fall Out Boy on tour. This was an absolute insult to Patrick 'cause no one's ever been able to cover this song without butchering it. Abi's flat on the verses, throwing an unnecessary C5 in there which sounded sharp (around 1:25), then trying way too hard to show off at the end.

As a songwriter, I'd be over the moon if someone sang my songs with so much passion. Relax! I'm sure they feel honored. And got paid.

This was honestly her second best performance of the season and the second best of the night! She ate that song up! Her belts are so powerful on the song. Lots of emotions and power in her voice as well. That was incredible! What can't she sing? She can sang the phonebook and I will instantly love it easily. She is my personal favorite as well. So you wanna be a sanger!

I don't think it's automatic, although it helps. But you have to be consistent after that. I loved her audition, but she had honestly lost my vote until yellow brick road. Then she was on probation for it until the last two performances, where she has officially won me over. Julia had an amazing audition, and a few amazing performances after that, but I think she was too inconsistent to maintain public opinion
