I have a drag device that has spring teeth on the back. I can add cement blocks to get more depth. I find it good for leveling, soil and turning up weeds. For hard pan on the field, I would use a subsoiler to improve drainage and fertility of the soil. On driveways, drainage problems and a poorly made crown are the things that create the most headaches. I am expanding my driveway and will be using geogrid for the base and tile to improve the drainage of the clay soil. This should stabilize the driveway. and parking area. I have experienced the good and the bad in driveways, and the bad is a losing battle.
