Good video. Ive had my Rascal Pro for about a year and it does a great job on my wifes Dressage arena. It is a small scale arena and the Rascal puts such a fine surface down. I also have a long gravel drive way that it does a good job with the rippers. Nice, rugged piece of equipment.

Thanks for reaching out! We work with lots of folks who have tried the homemade drag route. For some it works great! Sometimes the soil or gravel native to your area matches with the kind of design you're able to work into your drag. Other times, however, people end up calling us frustrated. Digging into your land sounds like it should be simple, but soil types, moisture content, and degrees of compaction all play a role in making progress difficult. We've got a whole line up of products for tow vehicles of all sizes. We also have a team of factory reps on-site here in the Midwest ready to answer whatever questions you may have. Give us a call sometime! We'd love to work with you. -- Matt @ ABI

Would the ABI attachment work for dragging snow?

Great question! Our Gravel Rascal Pro (the attachment shown most in this video) would be ideal for breaking through ice build up in driveways and gravel surfaces. If you need to move snow, not much can top a front-mounted snow blade or a tail mounted rear blade for your ATV/UTV. The mini-box on our Gravel Grader and Gravel Rascal Pro could easily capture the snow, but because of the pull-behind design, you'd have to drive over the snow first and that would cause some compaction issues. Hope this helps! - Matt @ ABI

@@ABIAttachments ok. How able the tractor mounted attachments? Same thing?

If you've got a three-point hitch on the back of your tractor we're talking a whole new ball game! You'd have the same issues if you'd try to move the snow moving forward; driving over the snow first would just compact it. The TR3 or TR3 E-Series would still capture what's left with the floating leveling blade, but you'd have to drop the captured pile somewhere. Just like a rear blade on the tail of your ATV, the best practice would be to use the TR3 or TR3 E-Series in reverse and let the finish rake and frame act as your snow blade. You'd want to keep the tires on the ground though because that finish rake is designed to dig into the top layer of your soil when used in reverse. In order to keep it from digging into your surface, make sure the stabilizing wheels are on the ground and the finish rake is floating above your gravel. Keep in mind, it's hard to beat a rear blade or a 3-point snow blade for this job. If you're moving mountains of snow each winter, you'll be happier with a product specifically designed for the task. But if the snow comes to your neck of the woods infrequently and in small doses, your TR3 could save you from an additional (and seasonal) attachment sitting around the property. Hope this helps! - Matt @ ABI
