My first pair of cowboy boots I bought as an adult were Abilene Boots. They were Elephant skin with kid skin shafts dark grey shaft with light grey lowers. Really nice and extremely tough boots. Of course that was about 35 years ago. Lol
@PublicMan014 жыл бұрын
I got a pair of Abilene Gunfighters a couple months ago. They're comfortable and seem high quality. The Gunfighter is also very unconventional for a cowboy boot, it's 19" tall and has a square toe but not an ugly one. It looks just like those civil war boots that cowboys wore in the old west.

Jeremiah, Nice review. I bought this pair of bison boots about five years ago. Within 6 months, the sole cracked on both boots across the ball of my feet. Contacted Abilene and they were no help. I had a cobbler replace the sole shortly after. He used a Vibram sole. I have been wearing them about every day since. I have replaced the heel cap three times. The upper has worn like iron. The cushy insole lasted about a year. Very durable. I hope that this helps...

I have a narrow foot and usually buy 8.5D-9D probably but the instep is usually never tight. I probably need a 8.5B. I’ve done a lot of things in order to make my boots fit including shrinking and putting cardboard cut outs under the removable insoles in a few of my boots. This will usually help but I never really get a true fit because there are not many options for a B in stores. If you can make the video on getting the proper fit with a narrow foot that you referenced in this video that would be great. Thanks and keep up the great videos
@JeremiahCraig4 жыл бұрын
That is always the drawback. We can find boots that kind of fit but we always miss out in the arch and there's nothing I've been about to figure out that will change that except absolutely wearing the shit out of a pair until they eventually change. That takes a very long time though when we would've been much better off with a B width

Jeremiah Craig it’s easy but there lace ups they where meant for cowboys up northern areas like Wyoming,Utah,Montana,and any other cowboy up north. *These where the boots that kept your feet warm and stayed on your feet during riding and when a rider got off his boot will stay on and as said was very warm.* The packer boots do have a thicker layer of leather for the rider feet to keep him/her foot warm.

Hey Jeremiah, I've been having problems looking for my first boots and I'm watching this video because these are my ideal pear I've been looking at so far, however these boots lack the texture and design on the instep that makes the boot popm My problem is I don't want a leather sole because I make minimum wage and I don't have money to get my boots resoled every 3 years, and I'd like to ask does a rubber sole take away from the aesthetically pleasing look, because I don't want anyone to know I've got cheap rubber by looking directly at the heel or the toe, I myself and others want a rubber round toe sole near the same aesthetic of leather, and are there any relatively decent black or deep brown R toe or round toe boots with rubber soles as opposed to leather around the 150-175 dollar range with a more shouty instep stitching patterns, and at most a 14 inch shaft (I have a very wide 13 inch foot so I find it difficult to slip into boots with long shafts). Thanks, bang on
