The Adi Ba:né Kébang East Siang District unit organized a felicitation cum welcoming programme here today, in honour of Miss Ninna Lego, who represented India in a 5 week long professional fellows’ exchange programme that fosters economic empowerment held at University of Oklahoma, USA from 10th May to 14th June, last.
Miss Lego, who hails from Upper Siang district, is the founder of House of Macnok (HOM), which is a company that deals in local jewelry, home décor, accessories and wellness products that reflect culture history and heritage of the Adi tribe.
Miss Lego’s father, Mr. Auto Lego expressed his immense joy and conveyed his gratitude to CM Pema Khandu and DCM Chowna Mein for their constant support towards his daughter. He also added that it brings him immense pride to be known as the father of the talented entrepreneur.
Adi Ba:né Ane Kébang (ABAK) East Siang Unit president, Smti Oming Jamoh Pertin congratulated miss Ninna and lauded her efforts to promote Adi culture on a global level, she encouraged the interested youths to consider the market potential of traditional garments, jewelry, accessories etc as a viable career option.
David Lego, conveyor of Lego Welfare Society congratulated miss Ninna and expressed his happiness for making whole of the Lego clan proud due to her remarkable achievement.
Silak Lego Welfare Society Pasighat Block president Mr. Makyem Lego urged the youth of the Lego clan to take leanings and inspiration from Miss Ninna, and try to follow her footsteps.
Tangang Welfare Society Women Wing represented by president Oter Tayeng, Assistant Cultural Secretary Olak Moyong and Treasurer Neyi Tayeng also conveyed their wishes and gratitude to Miss Lego for making them proud.
Miss Ninna Lego expressed her gratitude to ABK and everyone present for showering her with so much affection and arranging such a warm reception, she credited her achievement to her parents and well-wishers and urged the youth to recognize the market potential of traditional handicraft and opt it as a career option. She also thanked University of Oklahoma, USA, who supported her and aided her in obtaining the J1 Visa, which recognized her as a government scholar and a diplomat representing India.
ABK East Siang District Unit General Secretary, Kalen Komut said that such high level recognition of Miss Lego at such a tender age is a remarkable achievement in itself, and it brings laurel to the whole community. He further added that the recognition of miss Ninna’s traditional and cultural venture on a global scale will also help improving the tourist flow in the area.
ABK East Siang District Unit President, Dijhi Tamuk congratulated Miss Lego and said the achievement of miss Lego is a testimony to the potential of today women’s abilities and the whole community is grateful to her for showcasing her craft on the global level.
