Great video, love your style -- no music, right to the point, actual volume visualisation with the foam things, airport size check and the packing at the end. Thanks a lot for your work :)

Lovely backpack, I have this in Olive. The only "hidden" pocket you missed is a small velcro pocket behind the laptop sleeve inside where the aluminum frame sheet is. This is a good place for a tracker like an Airtag.

Good catch! Yeah, this is pretty well hidden, and goes all the way to the bottom of the pack, great place to hide an Airtag!

I have the same pack, the Daily Plus is just perfect for me and what I want out of my EDC pack. So comfortable carry! If you are looking for accessory pouches made from the olive X42 Alpaka has the Tech Case Mini and Evergoods just launched the CAP1 and CAP2 in the same X42 olive with the high-vis orange interiors. I have all three and happy to have them, the CAP2 is a perfect fit in the base of this pack and the CAP1 fits great in the outer pocket of this pack. Thanks for the thoughtful review.

Nice to know! But one question: if you have the CAP2 on the base, are you still able to store a (may be not so big) bottle in the bottle-compartment? Thanks and greetings from Germany :)
@HisGraceHisGlory
@HisGraceHisGlory 9 ай бұрын
@@saru3290 I just tested this for you. With the internal zip pocket in the main compartment completely filled, and with the CAP2 AND the Alpaka Tech Case sitting on top of the CAP2, I can easily fit the taller sized YETI 18oz. bottle in the bottle compartment and although tight-fitting, I can also fit a Nalgene 32oz. bottle. I tell you, this pack really deserves PACK OF THE YEAR for EDC packs. So well designed and fabricated! And so comfortable to carry!
@HisGraceHisGlory
@HisGraceHisGlory 9 ай бұрын
@@saru3290 Also, I should mention that even with all of this in the main compartment there is still enough room for a decent sized jacket or something else, and that is with the bottle in the bottle compartment included.

Thank you for the helpful video! It would be great if you did more in-depth demonstrations of what can go in the packs, how they look when half-full vs. packed out, and how they compare in size to other similar bags like the Evergoods CHZ22.

I really love your reviews - very thorough and interesting. I just bought this backpack and I don't even have it yet, but after a few weeks of research, I think this comes to close as perfect for my EDC for my petite frame that fits all my requirements and needs. It was this and between Mystery Ranch District 18 or UA24... I also like that it looks kind of like an alien's egg with this olive green. What is that REI brown bag on the right of the screen?

All your videos are very helpful. I'm deciding on what to buy between Able carry daily plus and the Cotopaxi Allpa28L. I'm gonna use it for personal carry and an everyday carry bag. Is there a big difference between the two, and what would you pick for a personal item bag.
@OneBagTravels
@OneBagTravels Ай бұрын
Daily Plus is a great EDC pack, but not as good as a travel pack just because it's so small. Opposite for the Allpa 28, it's a great travel bag, but doesn't work well as an EDC because of the clamshell and zippered compartments. If you like Able Carry the Max could work, it's a little big for a personal item and maybe too big for most EDC, but it holds a lot and would work for both.

I've used it on my last trip and it's a high quality bag for sure. Unfortunate I quickly found out it's not for me and sold it after use. That said, I'm still interested in their products, and I'd also appreciate if you could review the Daybreaker 2 to see how much it can pack and is it comfortable when fully packed. And some typo errors: the link refers to Able Carry Max not Daily+, and the bag is named SEG 28 in the content section 😁

United’s personal item is restricted to 17x10x9. Do you think this bag can be squished to those dimensions if not overpacked? Hard to tell how stiff back panel is on video.
@OneBagTravels
@OneBagTravels 11 ай бұрын
The back on the Daily Plus is a thick firm foam pad, it's fairly stiff and can bend a little, but not really squish much. I just flew United last week and I didn't see them checking anyone's bag. I find it hard to believe they would make you put the Daily Plus in the sizer box.

Top row L to R is Matador Beast, Tom Bihn TriStar, Patagonia Black Hole Pack, Osprey Farpoint. Middle: Cabin Max Metz, Tom Bihn Synik, Able Carry Max, Aer Duffel (older model). Bottom: Mystery Ranch District 24, Thule Aion 28, REI Ruckpack 28. I'm blocking a few behind me, I'd have to check when I get home.

Love your reviews. Curious, of all the bags you've tested which, in your opinion, have the most comfortable harness systems? I carry a lot of weight, always have a laptop, and walk all day. The wrong bag can exacerbate my shoulder/neck ailments which need a lot of TLC. Bags that ride high and tight are the most comfortable (the GR1 21L hits me in the right places but the straps aren't broken in yet and it's a heavy bag). My TB Synapse 19/Synik 22 have long been favs (especially the latter as it has a very nice frame sheet) but I find the straps sit too low on my back (likely because load is too much) which makes my shoulder angry. Looking for intuitive organization, well-made, low key to fit many environments. Black. I like bags that hold their shape, independent of load. I'm limited in length - 18" - thanks to a short torso. Have yet to try Able, Aer, Bellroy. P.S. Don't say Evergoods. Adore the aesthetic, but the bags don't fit me well, sadly. I think it's because of the curvature/frame sheet that sees a bull's eye in my lower back...Many thanks for your ear. Look forward to your wisdom, if you have the time. Cheers,

@@OneBagTravels that was really kind of you to write. It’s always great to get advice from an expert traveler! Hopefully, one of their bags will work on the streets of NYC, certainly not as exotic as the places I dream of going, but good practice. For now, no overhead compartments to worry about or boxes to fit into (except in my job)…at least the subway won’t force me to check my bag. Happy travels.

I much prefer this pack over the Element Pro. I much prefer the hidden bottle carry of the DP, the open channel of the back padding is also much better on the DP. Alpaka made a very odd choice in utilizing a zipper garage with an Aquaguard zipper for the top access pocket and that garage is fitted to hold all the water as it runs down the pack if you are ever caught in the rain without a rain fly, very odd choice. Beyond that subjectively speaking, I find the look of the Daily Plus is a much nicer looking design overall. Just my impressions and observations with both packs.
