Report on Appleton's Live 12 Update
Appleton has recently announced a significant update for their popular music production software, Live 12. This update comes with a host of new features that aim to enhance the user experience and expand the software's capabilities. However, this update is priced at $229, which has sparked a debate among users about its value, especially considering the availability of third-party apps that offer similar features at a fraction of the cost.
New Features in Live 12
Appleton's Live 12 update introduces several features that are noteworthy. These include:
Enhanced Audio Engine: Improved sound quality and performance.
New Instruments and Effects: Addition of new virtual instruments and effects that broaden the creative possibilities for users.
Improved User Interface: A more intuitive and streamlined interface to enhance workflow efficiency.
Advanced Automation Features: More sophisticated automation tools that allow for greater control over the music production process.
Integrated Collaboration Tools: New tools that facilitate easier collaboration with other artists and producers.
Comparison with Other Software
While these features are valuable additions, it's important to note that many of these enhancements are already available in other music production software. Competitors such as Logic Pro, FL Studio, and Cubase have long offered similar capabilities, often at a lower price point. For example:
Logic Pro X: Priced at $199, Logic Pro X includes a robust set of instruments, effects, and a high-quality audio engine.
FL Studio: With various editions ranging from $99 to $499, FL Studio offers comprehensive music production features, including a wide range of instruments and effects.
Cubase: Starting at $99 for the Elements version, Cubase provides advanced audio and MIDI features, along with a user-friendly interface.
Cost Considerations
The $229 price tag for the Live 12 update is a significant investment, particularly when compared to the cost of third-party apps that offer similar features. Many third-party plugins and instruments are available for much less, often ranging from $30 to $100. These apps can be integrated into existing music production setups, providing similar functionality at a lower cost.
Conclusion
While Appleton's Live 12 update brings several valuable enhancements, it also highlights the need for users to carefully consider their options. The price of the update is relatively high, especially when compared to the cost of other software and third-party apps that offer similar features. Users must weigh the benefits of the new features against the cost to determine if the update is worth the investment.
Recommendations
Evaluate Your Needs: Assess whether the new features in Live 12 align with your specific music production needs.
Consider Alternatives: Explore other software and third-party apps that might offer similar capabilities at a lower cost.
Budget Wisely: Ensure that the investment in the Live 12 update fits within your budget and provides the value you expect.

If your primary argument is hating on someone else because they are excited and enthusiastic about something it diminishes your points in my eyes. While you may have some legitimate criticisms about abelton, I do not feel it is necessary to try to drag Anthony because he is excited about this. To be honest this style of video makes me uninterested in watching any of your other videos. Maybe try focusing on the facts and not attacking people personally. Anthony is a good person and he does a lot to help out his community. Also he is a very talented and successful musician.

I'm an Ableton artist and they don't pay me to promote even though I did get a free update. I would've paid anyways though as I've done in the past. I am genuinely excited myself so I don't think this guy is faking but hey who knows. I'm excited because it's built in and Autotune is expensive. You can keep using 11 if you want. Or just choose another DAW. Logic is awesome. I think Apple can charge a lower price because you have to get a Mac anyways. They making soooooo much more money than Ableton.

The point of Ableton's "global scale" is not that you can flip between 12 keys then select major minor, dorian etc. One can easily live without scale highlighting for those. The point of it is that it actually supports every custom scale, and custom tuning (even microtonal 72 note-per-octave scales!) that you could ever come up with, and that it leverages MPE to tune each instrument and effect. It is far, far more extensive than the scale implementation in your mobile daw. And by extension, that means this is the first "autotune" live effect ever capable of arbitrary tunings and scales. Name one third party plugin that does that! P.S.: Changing reference pitch from A=440hz to something else is not the same thing, i'm talking about stuff like quartertones here, you know like the ones you'd hear on arabic music or a King Gizard album

This is why I chose Logic Pro with a price of 200$ and free updates for life, unless u are using the live proformance feature on Ableton then u are wasting money.

Stem separation must be the most overhyped "feature" ever You know these stem separators are just free software libraries, right? $ python3 -m demucs -d cpu "path/to/my/audio.wav" This is how we did it before FL Studio tacked that on a menu and received some godly praise for it.
