I've had abode for about 2 years now. I've had so many glitches and random unexpected things happen with the abode. For example, my automations just decided to completely not work for a few months and then somehow started working again? Customer support tried to help as well but couldn't figure it out. One phone consistently isn't picked up to start/end automations. And perhaps worst of all, the subscription service doesn't cover review of 24/7 live video. That's an additional $9.99 :( AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF even paying what might be one the highest subscriptions around, I am only sometimes able to actually review my 24/7 video. Half the time I get an error message that won't let me view anything but the live video. I'm making the switch to ring. This price is far too high for the number of technical errors abode presents.

Abode is coming out with a video doorbell. So far my Abode has worked fantastic!

Really enjoyed your review! Are there any smart locks that would integrate with the abode system? I saw there was a usb on the back. Wondering if this allows a storage device to connect? Thank you!

Glad you enjoyed the review, @Jason Ottem! Here's Abode's page on their compatible products: goabode.com/smart-home/works-with-abode It's a pretty solid list, but TL;DR - Abode plays well with August, Kwikset, and Yale locks. But because it works with Zigbee and Z-Wave, that list could be longer than what they've got on the page. Hope that helps!

can Abode home base connect to Ring contact sensors and ring cameras?

Unfortunately no, at least not directly. You might be able to link them both through Alexa or Google Home and use them that way though

Professional monitoring will no longer be available for the $10 price tier for new customers starting in 2022 with ring. Sucks because it’s now doubled its price annually
