The high school in the district I'm teaching at put on the SpongeBob musical a little while ago, and the student playing Plankton was a girl and they made no effort to beat the allegations that Plankton and Karen were now lesbians

Guy from Britain here. Don't worry; not gonna "ERM ackTUally" here. British chips from a typical Fish and Chip shop are pretty terrible; not crispy and are often reheated instead of being fresh. I used to eat pie slices akin to the steak one shown, but it is genuinely trash food. It's a shame that Welsh cuisine is never mentioned in the British food discussion, as they have some decent dishes; Welsh cakes (a flat, sweet bread with raisins and dusted with sugar), Cawl (winter soup with meat, potatoes, carrots, swede and leek), and Glamorgan sausage (vegetarian sausage with cheese, leek, and breadcrumbs).

@@manjackson2772 I don't want the ENTIRE chip to be crispy, you understand. Crispy on the outside, soft potato on the inside. I'm in India right now, and a lot of places do AMAZING fries. Very few burnt ends (if any) in a serving.

The Avatar discourse is really strange to me, with people calling it a kids show, or pushing back on it being a kids show... You know what else was a kid's show? Yugioh ☠ Or hell, if you want examples of truly great media - Adventure Time, Spongebob, Phineas and Ferb, Chowder, Batman TAS, Justice League. All kids shows, all different, and all among the greatest TV to ever air. Being a kids show does not mean you have to be stupid, or talk down to your audience. It just means you have to operate within a stricter set of guidelines. And hey, sometimes those guidelines can compress coal into diamonds.

That British food is mostly misrepresented. The chips with peppers is a menu item usually called something like "Salt and Pepper Chips", and it's pretty common in takeaways one step above the places you go after drinking. The Tuna and Beans is unconscionable, but Tuna OR beans is like a fine thing to eat that's like above a struggle meal but below an actual meal. I have never seen someone buy an un-microwaved pie from a takeout, and frankly those chips look anemic so presumably that's a London Chipper. The battered sausage and curry sauce are probably nice, though.

MBT talking over the Progression series intro, reading the subs as fast as possible, to annoy the audience of a reuploader. Of course doing this is also annoying to the people watching it live and also people who are watching the VOD, thus annoying everyone, a common MO by Mr. BT

Indeed. Though shotgunning through them as fast as possible as the video behind is playing at the same volume, making it difficult to hear what anyone is saying at all, might not be the best way of reading subs. I don't watch the VODs for the Prog-Reacts, and since it is a vod I can and do skip over when he is doing that, but it is still annoying.

I hate Twitter and I can't believe someone decided to recreate it. I genuinely despise all forms of social media and once Twitter inevitably goes down, that's it for me. I WILL not be moving over to Bluesky.
