This is actually a remake of a soviet cult classic 'irony of the fate', i recommend you to watch it. Plus, it seems like the only similar thing between the original and the remake is the reason why heroes met.

so this is a remake of the irony of fate, a famous soviet film that family's usually watch during the new year. anyway, the plot is the same but maybe makes more sense because soviet apartments literally were built to look the same no matter where you were

I like how culture highlights the similarities between the people all over the world. Soviet "Irony of fate" from the 70s was a commentary on commie blocks and state-produced goods being typical, that Hollywood film uses the same plot to talk about mass-market and capitalist production also being typical. Different ways of life, same problems.

One of the most popular Soviet film is called "the irony of fate", where on the NYE night a guy gets y mistake to someone else's house. The plot is quite similar! I can't believe there are American films influenced by the Soviet ones!

This is a remake of the cult Soviet comedy "The Irony of Fate" In post-Soviet countries, we all watch this movie on the eve of the New Year. This is a real tradition. We know all the jokes, all the lines by heart. It's funny that the original film was a critique of the Soviet system, which built the same houses, the same neighborhoods. She named the streets after the same famous Soviet personalities. And the residents furnished their houses with the same interior, bought in the same stores. In Soviet times, no one could have imagined that such a thing was even possible in American realities

@@niessie01 Robert's character probably left her door unlocked, allowing him to just waltz in and get in bed. Although even if he was drunk and exhausted, I think he would still have enough brain function to tell by the decor that its not his apartment. so yeah, huge plot hole there.

When the screen showed the two of them in different angles and it was presumed that they were texting each other and talking about their relationship, I kind of predicted that they were actually seeing two other people. Because when you see a lot of movies and trailers you kind get ideas from these kind of things.

Всем привет. Это ремейк старого фильма снятого ещё во времена СССР. Сюжет конечно адаптирован под настоящее время и американскую публику. Фильм назывался "Ирония судьбы или с лёгким паром" . Герой попадает в дом героини который полностью похож на его дом. Причём у героев есть свои возлюбленные, но они влюбляются друг в друга. Любовь )))))

"Ирония судьбы или с лёгким паром" is an actual movie 🎬. It's really good, I highly recommend to watch it. When I lived in the US (Boston area), something similar happened to me after a party. It's a pretty funny story.
