Above & Beyond release their long-awaited collaboration with anamē, ‘Gratitude’ (feat. Marty Longstaff) on April 14 through Anjunabeats.
This collaboration marks the debut of anamē: a new alias from Swedish hitmaker Marcus Schössow and production partner Thomas Sagstad. 'Gratitude' also marks the return of Sunderland singer-songwriter Marty Longstaff to Anjunabeats, the voice of Above & Beyond's 'Tightrope' and 'Flying By Candlelight'.
Debuted during Above & Beyond's sold-out London festival at The Drumsheds in 2021, 'Gratitude' is both a jubilant vocal ballad and a tough, dancefloor filler. During Above & Beyond's winter tour, which sold nearly 70,000 tickets across the USA, the significance of this record to the group's dedicated fan community was immediately apparent. It has cemented itself as a future classic for Jono, Tony and Paavo, standing alongside some of their best-loved anthems like 'You Got To Go' and 'Thing Called Love'.
Marcus Schössow's production resumé is extensive: he's collaborated with all three members of Swedish House Mafia, as well as Bassjackers, and has released on Revealed Records, Spinnin', SIZE, Armada and Axtone.
More commonly found performing under the moniker The Lake Poets, Marty Longstaff rose to prominence with the moving acoustic ballad ‘Shipyards’. The song accompanies the opening credits to the sleeper hit Netflix documentary, ’Sunderland ’Till I Die’.

I have been dealing with my own mental illness alone for many years. This track gave me a choking moment when I was sprinting on a stationary bike last week and I have to stop immediately to catch my breath. It may not be a real person but I am grateful for listening to the song that hit me deep inside and watching people living with their friends and family happily around me

Sweet, warm track. I was thrown off by the rather dark, minor-key first drop, but realized that it was an embodiment of “lose myself in sorrow”, before it modulates into the much more positive and uplifting chord progression representing gratitude :)

I am not encouraging anyone to do this* I love this track ever since it was released.. but then yesterday I heard it for the first time while tripping on psychedelics and the experience I had was just indescribable. Over the last 20yrs their sound and style has evolved with the genre, fans and general adaptation to music. I will always love the early A&B work and remixes, but since Group Therapy, their change and slight direction for me has been very enjoyable and interesting. I always get hyped for new A&B singles as they are always revealed at a time when big events happen for them and they create memories and hype that as a fan of their music means I cant wait for the music to get a release. This track is no different and I like it a lot! 🤍🙏

this is the second track with marty i can relate to after flying by candlelight. there is one thing which confuses me. the song ends aprubtly on youtube, spotify etc. but not so the version bought on beatport
