People shout. They think the world listens, but nobody is really listening when you're shouting. But when you’re really quiet...when you whisper, people really do listen.Maybe the real power is in something really small and elegant.

Above & Beyond, I don't know if there's anything you can do about it, but the GEMA situation here in Germany seems to mean that all of your videos on KZfaq are blocked. Can you tell them to bog off and leave your videos alone?! :-)

I've been following these guys for over 10 years now, I fell in love when I heard their BBC essential mix in 2004 (I think) and never looked back. They continue to amaze me, I'm happy to see the fruits of their labor are paying dividends to hundreds of thousands of people all over the world.

I finished listening to the new album two hours ago, went for a regular evening jogging, so now I am writing with a clear mind and with thoughts in order. And I can state, that for me there is not a single song that I would not enjoy, which I find really rare. I was prepared that there won´t be much of trance, because they are developing as artists, and trance is somewhat restrictive to little details, that you can creatively use in other genres. So for me it was kind of automatic that they would lean to something other than trance. The Group Therapy was a foreboding of this, another clue, that the switch was changed and the train is on a different track now. And I don´t think that was a mistake on their part, this album is an evidence of it. The main thing I was afraid of in this album was, they would slip into mainstream, which in my opinion did not happen. They took the melodies and shaped them like sculptors into forms they think suit them best (no current fashion applied) and I think they did an excellent job at this. Speaking of melodies - all of them were HIGHLIGHTS of this album. Amazing stuff, every single one. Lyrics, as was said in this little "Making of", are personal, and that makes songs incomparable to mainstream "I love you, you love me" garbage. Than another thing: I was afraid of an abuse of electronics, if you would, because of a pressure from mainstream. Again - did not happen. It was administered in accurate doses, very sensitively. Sometimes music needed some "hard, earthy" sounds, but then melody came in, and suddenly we were in the sky, flying again. Singers: I LOVED the variety of voices. As the album progressed I thought I was listening to a concert of some kind, where singers change at the podium for their parts. 5 singers including Tony. I loved that there are 16 songs, so we could hear lead singers in more pieces. So to sum it up - I am a satisfied listener, I got what I expected, and something above and beyond of it. ;) Thank you guys very much, now I have something to listen to for a VERY long time.

To be honest, as a producer and a man who sees the world by the shape and not by the content, i have to say that Above & Beyond are the BEST surfers on the tides of the changes that time brings to music. They really make music from the core of their hearts and souls. I am not saying that they didn't changed their sound after so many years, they did, a lot. But i have a question for you. If all of you who say that they don't make the same trance music as they did before 3 4 or maybe 5 years or more, then why you don't wear your shirts, shoes, pants or whatever clothes you have worn 3, 4 or 5 years before. You know the answer ... the fashion changed ... so does the music ... so does trance ... new genres develop and new music evolves. The clue thing is where you began ... not where you go. I am pretty sure that if they started making music from a genre different than trance back then, they would finished in an underground club with local drunkers and prostitutes. Due all to respect of you guys ... but blaming on them or any other artist for who you think their music changed with time is not worthy :)

OK, I've listened to the album. Jono, Paavo, Tony: your music largely doesn't appeal to me any more, I'm sorry to say that - I truly am. In fact, I have tears in my eyes writing this. Am I betraying you? You guys were the reason I started listening to Trance. But I know, I know, times change. People change. I know you're still producing music from the heart, and I wish you all the best. I hope you bring joy to the lives of many more, as you brought joy into mine back in the OceanLab days. Our paths crossed and we walked together for a long while, and it's been emotional; but now our paths diverge. Such is life. As for me? The Trance I love is still alive and kicking. Bryan Kearney, John Askew, Simon Patterson, John 00 Fleming, Neptune Project, Aly & Fila, Solarstone... I'll check in from time to time, because you still sometimes produce amazing tracks, like 'We're All We Need' (amazing!). But no, most of your tracks no longer appeal, and I can't devote my time to you in the same way any longer. So, bye guys.

I see so many of you just saying how good were Oceanlab and the old A&B compared to this. I was just 1 year old when Oceanlab was formed and I don't want to be mean or something, but I never enjoyed an Oceanlab track as much as I enjoy Above&Beyond now. So I really think that music taste changes a lot. As I 15 yo teen I really consider myself somehow unique when I see all around me (at school or even online) people that now nothing about trance. And I really love when I just put my headphones on and listen to a track from We're all we need, Group Therapy, Tri State; Mirage and Imagine or even a good emotional track I just heared on ASOT or Group Therapy and I just close my eyes and start dreaming. I love those moments and as I said, it's the "new" Above&Beyond that gives me that. I also think that, in the future, I will probabely say that the new trance is bad compared to this one, just because these are the tracks that introduced and made me love trance. So, in my opinion, Above&Beyond (and any other trance artists) may have changed their style, but time changes...and so does music. (Sorry if I had any grammar or spelling mistakes, but I am not a native English speaker so...)

Is it me or are people here insane???? What the heck is the difference between the new stuff and the old??? A&B are just as great if not better than ever. And I begun with Tri-State - long time fan right here. They are one of the few along with PvD and AvB that got me into Trance. Are they hating because A&B are getting more popular??? Because to me good music is good music. I would flat out admit if the new album sucked but it just does not. How anyone could possibly dislike the new music from this group is beyond me. I feel sorry for them because the music takes me away into dreams and in a state of relaxation and peace of mind that few artists can deliver. Don't listen to the few disappointed individuals. Keep doing what you're doing as long as it sounds good.
