1:14:56 your assessment of what happened in the 60’s with the Black Panthers and the lesser well known Black Liberation Army is correct but that’s exactly why many movements of the past couple of decades have fizzled out because the FBI/CIA learned so well back then and did such an effective job of co-opting and destroying movements of that era, that they were also able to effectively cut off the lessons and tactics the groups involved in the movements of that era could’ve imparted to the movements of today. So it’s no wonder why we see the same steps repeated over and over because it’s not like the FBI/CIA have stopped doing any of that even though they’ll say they have.

Most people are struggling to make a living and raise kids and take care of elderly parents to pay attention to politics. Just protesting seems too much. So students and retired are protesting. We need stronger unions to get wages higher, better benefits and a shorter work week and to push progressive, left policies and politicians.
