everything was dirt and sand in there , it's already contaminated obviously people had to clean the place first no matter you're wearing shoes or not the main priority is to renovate and clean the place , no one knows what's hidden in the dirt , could bleed and injured your foot so it's not wise to not wear shoe

Good comedy, then why you cannot find this in any other temple. Clearly it was a Jain temple later shankaracharya who went on converting all Jain temples from south to north. Kedarnath is one which got converted similar to badrinath.

Infact Jaggannath temple has been many times been referred as originally Jain / Buddhist place of worship, but I question here that why the carvings doesn't show any stories related to Lord budha or mahaveer . Contradicting fact is that these temples have carvings related to maithuna( coitus) n hunting which are against the principle s of Jainism n Budhism.
