I have a 1.5T 3 star inverter AC which I use 16 hours a day and yet it hardly consumes 10 units a day which indludes one 2 star 288ltr fridge which works 24 hours a day and other electronics items. This is what I do. I turn on the AC at 11.30 AM and set the temperate to 26 degree (with auto fan speed) and let it cool the room for an hour and then turn the ceiling fan on at low speed and leave it like that. After sunset, I increase the temperature to 27 degree and keep it running till 3.30 AM. I try not to turn the AC on and off multiple times (except powercut or when I need to go out for a significant amount of time). Been following this for a long time and it never failed me. Planning to test this for 24 hours and see how much it consumes.

I feel that this is very logical. The hot / warm air that has collected at the ceiling level should be left undisturbed there and let the A/C work on the cooler air that has collected at the mid-level and floor-level only. In fact this same logic applies even to floors other than top ones.

ভালো তো অবশ্যই লেগেছে কিন্তু একটা কথা জানার ছিল, এই গরমে বারবার ইলেকট্রিক ওঠা নামা করছে। তার ফলে যে সময়ে যতোটা ঠান্ডা হাওয়ার কথা, সেটা হচ্ছে না। এই অবস্থায় কি করা উচিৎ?

লাগাও ওগো বন্ধু,গাছ লাগাও। A/C লাগানোর থেকে গাছ লাগাও, অক্সিজেন সরবরাহ বেশি হবে। পরিবেশ ভালো থাকবে। লাগাও বন্ধু।

বাহ্ খুব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কথা বললেন। আমার ফ্ল্যাটের দুটি এসিরই আউটার ইউনিট আমার কাভার্ড ব্যালকনিতে লাগিয়েছি কারন ঐ বাইরে ঝুলিয়ে রাখা ব্যপারটা আমার ভালো লাগতোনা। এখন দেখছি আমরা তাহলে ভালোই করেছি 😅

Afaik if you turn on the fan while the ac is been working to cool down the room,the load on the compressor increases because the warm air of the fan mixes with the cold air which disturbs the free flow of the ac.

Earlier A/C coaches of trains had ceiling fans. Those have been removed because of this effect mentioned here.

Just do an experiment on this - select an 1 hour time say 3pm and 4pm of two consequitive days, take the meter readings at these times. On the 01st day run the a/c between these times with no fan. On the 02nd day run the A/C with the ceiling fan on. Now compare the differences and one will understand which one is preferable.

আর আপনার প্রথম তথ্যটি সম্পূর্ণ ভুল, আমি আউটডোর বাহিরে তপ্তরোদে রেখেও দেখেছি, আবার বারান্দায় ছায়ার মধ্যে রেখেও দেখেছি, এতে ঠাণ্ডা বা বিলের কোন ডিফারেন্স নাই, আর এসির আউটডোর এমন ভাবে সম্পূর্ণ রোদে থাকলো কোন সমস্যা হবে না।

Fan এবং A/C একসাথে চালাবেন না। বিশেষতঃ যারা ছাদের তলায় থাকেন। Fan always draw the adjacent air which is hot due to radiation of Roof. In that case, you wll see Compressor not cutting off thus consumption will be much more. Pls dont advise wrong to public who are not having any technical knowledge.
