He has. He is against Hindi imposition. As per constitution, all languages are treated equally. Politicians in the north are doing this for votes. It's not even mandatory in the Indian military to know Hindi or English but people learn on their own to communicate with north Indians and other non Hindi speaking pee with English and on top of this each regiment speak in their own native language as well.

Also no one ever protests against speaking Hindi. We are against Hindi compulsion and arrogance of treating it above other languages. Everyone have given equal contribution for independence so u should not put one language above all. Honestly many Indian languages south and north are different but also similar because they all are derived from Sanskrit.
