Abraham Lincoln's house in Springfield IL. This was the house he owned after moving out to Springfield when he first became a Lawyer. He raised his family in it before he became President.

Memories of when I use to visit my paternal family living in Springfield, Illinois. Made it an effort to play tourist and visit the sites.

The colors in the curtains, the carpet and the Wallpaper are so vivid....wonder if they were the originals? Gorgeous place!

Nope, they are reproductions but identical to what he would have had.

Love the wallpapers, staircases, linens. The black frontroom couch fabulous. Place is awesome.

Now was this 'President Lincoln's' home before he became 'President'? Also, I know the Linen's are NOT the original's, and neither are the curtain's. Some of the 'Wall Paper' looks rather new as well. At least his home is being kept in good condition!!!!

Yup, this was Lincoln's home before becoming President. The linen's, wallpaper and curtains are not originals and are reproductions. And the place is looked after wonderfully with big plans to increase the size of the area of the museum as presently you have the Lincoln's house and a couple of others nearby along with the main museum/shop. But they're going to make more so it looks more like what it would have looked like in Lincoln's time. Well worth the visit.

Some of the wallpaper is extremely busy. Is that what the original looked like? If so, I can see why Mary had frequent headaches.😏. Place is very well kept.

They sure have altered things. Grew up going there. The white fences outside are a disgrace. Furniture is bull. Sad.

I wonder actually how much of the interior is "Original" eg: Furntiture, Linen, Cutlery etc. It looks too good to be original. I bet most of it's replicas.
