Subbed!! I do some flips and jumps but not at this level of height or skill yet. I'd like to just jump off from 50+ feet, wearing shoes of course. I'd be down to do a back layout from pretty high up and would wear a shirt, to limit the pain if I don't land 100% correctly. Have to look up some cliffs in IL, where I live. For now, I just have the usual height platforms at a local pool.

I watched a video the other day of these guys getting someone to jump off a 10 meter platform... I commented about growing up in Vermont and jumping off of cliffs much higher, I'm not sure where this quarry is, but holy crap is it much higher than the 2 or 3 near me, now all closed to swimmers.. Awesome stuff..

@altaridem2 жыл бұрын
Im pretty sure this is at the granite quarries in the aptly named Graniteville VT. If it is, its the cliff called "Death" and its far beyond 100ft deep.
@fitness4life672 жыл бұрын
@@altaridem the water or the jump?
@altaridem2 жыл бұрын
@@fitness4life67 The jump is probably 60-70 feet. The water is 100+/- depending on the time of the year. The closer to the middle you get, the deeper the water. The quarry deep hole is 600ft (300 above water, 300 below). I used to go there all the time. It's literally a 5 minute walk down a path off the side of a road. The name of the quarry is "rock of ages" in granitville VT.

If you use Newton's Second Law of Motion, you will see that the cliff is actually 73.96ft. Use the equation h = 16t^2!
@skuterkid...2 жыл бұрын
Sorry man, you're wrong. This cliff has been jumped by many others on KZfaq, others who have used an actual measuring tape rather than an equation. Each time, the measurement comes to 112-113 feet

@@skuterkid... I've been off 45ft and this is wayyyy higher than that is what I can tell!!!
@pamelaahearn94773 жыл бұрын
People should be told that this is illegal and you don't know how deep the water is due to protuding rocks and equipment left in the water.
@supremlyfoxylass3 жыл бұрын
Pamela Ahear n exactly and usually they are trespassing to get to them.. it’s all so much fun until someone smashes their head and drowns
@fitness4life672 жыл бұрын
if you jump at already jumped locations, there won't be any new equipment for sure, and you can judge the water by looking at water lines to see if it's dropped any. Don't really need more than 20ft at any height, the water slows you down.
@Chris-dz7fn2 жыл бұрын
@@fitness4life67 I live half a mile from this quarry, grew up here....I cant recall many accidents happening personally in this exact spot, but Ive known at least two people from this area , jumping in other well traveled/swam quarries close by, who have nearly died thinking a spot was safe only to find that equipment in the water had shifted over time, as do boulders and such. one guy jumped and landed inside a dairy cows corpse, because of the water having receded. As he landed he sunk into the torso of the cow. The rib cage of the cow acted as kind of a bear trap on his leg- the more he struggled out the more the bones tore up his legs. Cliff jumping, a grizzly but admittedly a fun hobby.
