Eight years old ako nung Edsa 1, nagpunta kami ng parents ko sa Edsa. Second year law student ako nung Edsa 2, pumunta kami ng classmates ko sa Edsa. Abugado nako ngayon at hindi ko pinagsisihan na naging mulat ako at a young age. I was involved and aware of what’s happening. Ngayon lahat keyboad warriors na lang. Pawoke pero misplaced ang understanding. Mas don ako nanghihinayang, hindi yung pagpunta ko sa Edsa. I miss brilliant politicians. Ngayon kung hindi magnanakaw, sabaw ang utak or BOTH. God bless the Philippines.

Sen Santiago voted NO but with reservation on this. Her reason is purely logical and legal. She stated that opening the envelope would violate the defendants right since the alleged nature of the envelope as an evidence is not within the articles of impeachement. She even said that they can actually open the envelope but first, the prosecution must edit their complain or aoi.

But this is an impeachment court. Things there are not the same with the regular trial court since the impeachment court is also a political process at kailangan rin talaga nilang isaalang alang ang mga opinion at pulso ng taumbayan dahil mga elected senators ang tumatayong impeachment judges, not like a regular trial court na talagang purely judicial at based on the rules of court talaga since yung mga judges ay hindi naman kailangan makinig sa opinion sa taumbayan dahil kailangan talaga nilang maging impartial at unbiased.

My dad (🙏), a former manager in PSE was hired by NYSE as a consultant in 1999 by virtue of his credentials for two decades. I remember we were on vacation in NY that month of EDSA Two when he told us apocalyptically that whoever seats in the Philippine presidency will commit the same mistakes of the previous ones. 22 years later, my mother and two sisters proved that my dad was right all along.

Ay wala na talagang mangyayaring ganito, sawang-sawa na taumbayan sa ka-drama-han na iyan. Nakadalawang EDSA na tayo and we're just going from bad to worse, from Marcos to Cory then from Erap to GMA. Mas malala korapsyon kay GMA kaysa kay Erap at dinaya pa si FPJ. Duterte rose to power in the first place because of an all-time low public trust on the "post-EDSA system." EDSA was supposed to move us away from the Marcos past pero yung mga nag-lead ng EDSA, inuna lang nila ang pansariling interes, naglagay ng mga provision that favored the oligarchs in the new constitution. Also, hindi ito totoong demokrasya, it's more of a manipulated republic in the first place, for example, Cory and Christian Monsod ensured that no pro-Marcos candidate (Miriam, Danding, and Doy Laurel) would be able to gain the presidency, the first pro-Marcos president of post-1986, Erap, was ousted 2 years later, then GMA cheated pro-Erap FPJ via Hello Garci, then PNoy "railroaded" Corona's impeachment in the senate because of his order to distribute his hacienda like separation of powers didn't exist at all. Of course Duterte learned from these tricks and did the same on Sereno and ABS-CBN (he probably cheated as well in the 2019 and 2022 elections but no evidence as of now) but the Yellows started this one, Duterte is just continuing the tradition.
