It's because FIFA needed to get the South American continent out of the way so they awarded them these token anniversary hosting rights so that Saudi Arabia can host it in 2034 by itself, as that way more money will fill those envelopes. Had they not done that then South America would have rivaled Saudi Arabia for hosting rights in 2034 which would have been difficult for the Saudis to win given that Qatar just hosted it. So they had to come up with an idea to "make everyone happy"

Shaka had my thoughts that 2030 should have been automatically given to South America, specifically Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, and Chile since those were the countries on the original bid, since it was going to be 100 years since the tournament first started and Uruguay hosted the first one, Argentina was in the final with Uruguay, and Paraguay alongside Chile were in the first tournament. But now it just seems like they're trying to appease everyone since South America feels pissed off for not winning while pissing off everyone because of travel and scheduling being a pain now. Now, South America would have to fight for 2034 if they still can while also fending against Saudi Arabia who basically have unlimited money. Even then, rules should be changed as Shaka floated in another video, a confederation can't have a country host the World Cup until the other confederations have hosted one already. I think that's fair and even out the qualifying spots as much as possible, so the smaller and less prestigious countries have a sniff at it because the European/South American appealing is ridiculous. There's already Copa America and the Euros for that. FIFA is a circus now if it hasn't been already.

Up until this point australia/nz , china, asean nations and japan had showed interest in bidding. I felt that the world cup in 2030 should've been in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, And Uruguay. First off why was Chile left out? Secondly I have an idea (which I doubt FIFA is going to go with), I've sent FIFA two different emails. One in January and one in September, about the 100th anniversary of the FIFA world cup for this edition alone to have 100 teams. Invite every single teams that ever qualified throughout history including the four that never qualified but participated in the football/soccer tournament in the 1920's summer Olympics (Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia in 1924, and Luxembourg both in 1924 and 1928.), since FIFA itself organized them (that's why Uruguay have two extra stars since they won both of those tournaments). Allow North and South Koreas to be one team (since they've done it at the FIFA u-20 in 1991), and Northern and Republic of Ireland as one team also (since they also do it in cricket, and rugby league/union world cups). That would be a total of 81 teams invited (unless new ones emerged in 2026). For now 19 spots would be open for a world wide intercontinental qualifiers starting in September 2027 thru November 2029 for the remaining 128 teams that never qualified. I call it the mother and father of all world championships! But like I mentioned in the beginning, I doubt FIFA would take note from a nobody like me. Craig Burley is right about them they're becoming an organization that nobody stating not to like. Personally they should had stayed with 32 teams and let Oceania have one or two spots (since there are 6 confederations, but one can't have an automatic spot?), and take 2 spots away from UEFA (since they get 13-15 spots), and let the defending champions qualify automatically, with one nation hosting. They really disappoint me with giving Spain, Portugal, and Morocco the majority of the hosting in 2030. I know a lot of people out there are going to disagree with me on some of these but that's fine. FIFA is like a corporation that has no loyalty to it's fans. It's always about getting the most money out there. They can't let UEFA skip hosting a world cup no more than 8-12 years.

FIFA have built their own loophole, that being as the 2030 WC is being played in South America, Europe & Africa, which by their own rules, the following WC cannot be on the same continent as the previous one, which leaves Asia, Australia & Middle East. It's no secret FIFA wanted to give it to SA, having even said themselves after the bait/switch summer/winter voting disgrace, which Qatar got the WC, "Why not Saudi Arabia". Now all they have to do is dismiss Oz & Asia out of the runnings, they as if by magic, SA gets the WC34!

It’s all about one of the Middle East countries, probably, Saudi Arabia, getting the 2034 World Cup! Qatar got the most dodgy World Cup in 2022, America has it 2026, and then South America (token matches), Europe and Africa share the 2030 World Cup. It then gives FIFA justification to go back to Asia in 2034 and o guarantee it won’t be Japan, South Korea or Australia getting the World Cup.

Plus the travel for the teams going to different continents is nuts.

When Euro 2000 was hosted in two countries, it started this whole shitty stuff. As an ardent footie buff, I've never liked how this whole thing about double, triple hosting. You fail to connect, and recollect how these tourneys were after some years or so.. you only remember who won, and not much about the whole tournament. Like out of sight is out of mind. Whereas you remember, some good tournaments like Italia'90, Euro'96, USA'94, France'98.. etc. Because these tourneys were held in one host country, and therefore you begin to associate and remember the atmosphere, the aura, the type of grounds, stadiums, people, weather, everything.. it creates stories and recollections as we revisit them, and look back. It has a picture. Something which the dual, triple nation tournaments will never create. And now, we have the world cup in three continents?🤮
