I'm an avid Westerns fan. So many leading men to mention as SO good: Wayne, Cooper, Lancaster, Douglas, Widmark, Peck, Fonda, and many more... But my favorite is Randolph Scott. Such a believable Hero.

Randolph Scott, probably the best of the best when it comes to matinee cowboys! I never watched one of his movies that wasn't thoroughly interesting and entertaining. 🐮

Another one of Randolph Scott’s best entertainment films. I have seen this movie before, when I was younger and now, I’m thoroughly enjoying, watching it again from New Zealand. Thank you for posting this great movie, loved it so much 👍❤❤❤👏👏👏🎉🎉🎉

If you've never driven one of those old covered wagons you probably won't understand why I'm making this statement. But the places they took that wagon in this movie, was absolutely amazing. And those beautiful draft horses really got a work-out.

Good movie! Randolph Scott is superb in westerns especially if he has a lady to keep him focused on getting the job done. This movie turned out to be better for all the people. Either gold or cattle everyone could benefit! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾💯🌹🌹🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😉🤔🤔🤔🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

The foreman (53:00) is Dale Robertson who became a leading man in westerns and starred in the popular TV series 'Tales of Wells Fargo.'

Bill Williams was often the second lead in films in the 40s and 50s, either as Mr. Nice Guy or playing a misfit like in Cariboo Trail. Wiki: Williams became a professional swimmer, performing in underwater shows. Williams appeared in ten films before he landed the lead role in television's 'The Adventures of Kit Carson', which ran for 105 episodes. He played a variety of roles on Perry Mason, in which *his wife Barbara Hale* co-starred as Raymond Burr's secretary Della Street.

It's called Bend of the River, with Stewart and Rock Hudson. It is very similar but they are on the Oregon Trail. It's a great Western movie

Lee Tung Foo was 75 years old when he did this movie. He had a remarkable career starting out as a singer in Vaudeville, then owned restaurants in NYC before starting his Hollywood career in dozens of films. His last was 'The Manchurian Candidate' in 1962.

Scott was the best western actor there was John Wayne was always playing the same role. Scott's movies are unpredicatble with great plots. He never made a bad movie. Like this one is so well done.

I Love perusing the comments for negativity,in regards to their personal opinion of the film..Without being negative myself I would point out that MOST of them were very accurate,which is unusual..The Movie was well cast and,too me,is a very good Western.

I’m guessing it might depend on who you think is a good guy. Davis was in many shows (westerns). The last show he was in was Dallas where he played Jock Ewing until his death in season 4.

Love Randolf Scott, but cattle in Chilkoot is pretty funny, not really a cattlemans paradise, more like a cattlemans nightmare and the Blackfoot indians are a thousand miles away from their home on the plains. The local Tlingit might get pissed at the invasion. Riding horses is pretty unlikely, people just walked if they weren’t trying to pack things,most horses died soon after they got there.I get a kick out of old movies and the shit they come up with, just a reminder that most movies cannot teach you anything.

The color in this film is all washed out. it would be nice to 4k colorize it and restore it. I always feel sorry for the poor animals that were used and abused to make these movies, horses, donkeys and cattle, dogs and other animals.
