satisfying abstract painting using a palette knife, a brush and masking tape. I used the palette knife to layer the acrylics, what creates the lovely textures. The brush is used for the smooth blending and to add some splashes. The masking tape is used to add some shadings for extra depth.
Acrylic paint on canvas (40x40cm)
Used Colors:
Mars Black (Sennelier "abstract")
Preussian Blue Phthalo (Royal Talens "amsterdam")
Cobalt Green Deep Hue (Sennelier "abstract")
Titanium White

Ca fait du bien de temps en temps de retourner dans sa zone de confort, surtout quand elle est jolie comme ça ;) It feels good from time to time to get back into the comfort zone, especially when it looks nice like this ;)

Very beautiful and I love your techniques and as I've mentioned before you are my main inspiration for wanting to learn and try my hand at abstract brush painting so I myself thank you very much for the inspiration. If you don't mind me asking a silly question approximately how long do you wait for the original paints to dry before adding the tape to complete the process ?? I normally do paint pouring and its a lot of fun and I love it but most of it is not something I would normally hang on my own walls but your work is beautiful and I am just trying to learn the basics of this style and then take it from there . Thank you as always for sharing your amazing talent and skill with us. It is truly appreciated. 😉😉

Thank you so much Julie :-) I wait around an hour to let the parts dry where i like to put the tape on. So, the thicker part are still wet and i have to be careful to not touch them ;-)

@@maasstube Thank you very much & yeah I will need to be extra extra careful with that myself lol. I've messed up many paintings by touching when & where I shouldn't. Hahaha. Thanks again for the tip I truly appreciate it. !! 😜😜😜😜😜😜 I like to watch your videos more than once or twice just so I can really concentrate on what you are doing & learn the different ways to add the little extra touches ...not to copy you but just to help myself learn all the little things .... sometimes its the little things that can change the whole outcome . Love this...how long do you wait before applying masking tape? It looks immediate...but you can never tell.

Your paintings are stunning Are you using all dry brushes? Can this brush blending technique be used on a large canvas ie. 48x48 inches?

Thanks a lot :-) Yes i use dry brushes but i spray a bit of water on the canvas while painting to keep the paint wet. The technique will work on larger canvas too.

I like your paintings but after watching several they now all look the same. Same brush technique around edges, same flicking paint etc. You are talented enough to push yourself more

Everyone has a preferred style or technique of painting ... maybe this is theirs and while they may be using the same strokes & what not each painting is beautiful in its own way.

Julie Rositer I agree and my comment wasn't a negative at all. But I feel he has the talent to push himself out of his comfort zone. Every painting looks the same after watching them and I have watched nearly all of them I think.

@@Deb0rah1 Oh I understand what you are saying but actually we have no idea what is done off camera or if the artist doesn't do other types of art ..maybe this technique is all they choose to post on KZfaq. I have no idea but I just don't like to assume anything and just appreciate what is being shared with us and try to learn from it. I also LOVE Rinske Douna who created the Dutch Pour & have become somewhat "friends" with her and the majority of her videos are all about her technique and when she felt ready to start posting more abstract work she did and its amazing but her passion is her Dutcho pours. She dabbles in all sorts of techniques but again mainly just posts her Dutch pours. 😉😉😉😉
