In this video, Lou and I find some of the most absurd blitzes. Fish were chasing Peanut Bunker all around us surrounding us at times....what an experience.

I love fishing pole 230 the mussel beds on the incoming and jump over to the Cape side and fish the point at the train bridge on the outgoing . Smash some huge stripers , ive caught football tuna and even witnessed a dude catch a sail fish down at the power plant , crazy stuff.
@ShakaAantoineКүн бұрын
You must like crowds, lol. I don't doubt that Tuna and sailfish swim through the Canal, amongst many others.

@@ShakaAantoine ive never run into anyone at 230 in all the years I've fished but yeah you have to show up early at the train bridge to get your spot down at the point.

Great video. Im new to the area and have been to the canal only a couple times so far, no luck yet but This video got me up early this morning heading out to give it another shot!

Thanks. It's like that sometimes. It took me a good while before I caught my first Canal fish. Just keep at it.

Wind, throw Metal!
@ShakaAantoineАй бұрын
The Canal is a very different place to fish. "Metal" isn't so popular for bass...blue fish, yes!

Nice strypers . That was definately a 30lb plus. I got 2 in my life so far 30lb 10 oz. and the other I was unable to weigh but measured 45 3]4 inc.

me and a friend were on the boat at the end of the jetty that morning, blues and bass on every cast, bit windy and choppy at the mouth of the canal, but great morning, we probably caught about 2 dozen fish each

What do you run for a rod/reel setup when fishing the canal?
@ShakaAantoine2 ай бұрын
For jigging, I use an 11' Lamiglas Carbon Surf (rated 3-8 oz)paired with a Stella 14K, and for plugging, I currently use an 11' Carnage II (rated 2-6 oz) paired with a Saragosa 8k

@@ShakaAantoine do you use Mono backing on your reel? If so what LB test and how many yards
@ShakaAantoineАй бұрын
@ericmota3818 Yes, it's usually light. Either 15 or 20lbs test.
@staytight6340Ай бұрын
Eric Looks like he uses the reel I use for tuna and a lamiglas surf rod. But it's so easy 2 catch fish at the canal it would be a complete waste of money to copy him Get a 10K saragosa and get a 10 foot surf rod like a tfo 2 to 6 ounce

How many more videos are you going to make in the cape cod canal? The canal is the easiest place to catch a striper. No true skills i guess
@ShakaAantoineАй бұрын
The only people who comment about how easy it is to catch fish at the canal are people who never fished it or are completely ignorant of the Canal. I'll continue to make Canal videos as long as I'd like, especially if my viewers want to see them...stay in your lane.
