he is a legend. There were certainly times when he was no longer quite as popular. But in recent years his popularity seems to have deservedly increased again. Again and again over the years. ..there are countless great songs from him from his 50-year career. soul, pop, rock, opera, comedy. he has also written for/with many other big stars he has retained his strong and soulful voice to this day (70 years)...and you can see that again on his latest album, spark of light

This song is still so hard for me to listen to. When this song came out, I was in my teens, a very dear 13 year old friend (she was more like a little sister) died tragically in a car accident. Every time I hear this song, it takes me instantly back to the night of her accident and her death. Rest in Peace my “little sister” Andrea! 😢

And he's had a number of hits to add to his appeal and popularity. *Please check out Barry Manilow. He's also a man with many gold records under his belt. What's wild is that he was into hard rock & heavy metal from the mid 70's thru the mid 80's as the frontman for a band called 'Blackjack'. Then he changed his style to this in the late 80's & he became huge. He's sold more than 75 million records. I love his version of 'When a man loves a woman'. Michael is now 70 & still touring.

Song story (according to DJs in my area when it came out) - Guy loves girl romantically. Girl loves her 'great friend'. Girl finds her Mr Right. Guy's having a pity party over lost dream. I'm not dissing the song! It's a gorgeous song from one of the best singers of the era, so ignore my sarcasm please ;) My vote for the next Bolton song is 'Said I Loved You But I Lied.'

Him and the girl were best friends and friends with benefits. He fell in love with her and wanted to move it forward but in the first stanza he said “someone swept your heart away” so she fell in love with someone else and now he’s saying how is he supposed to live with out her in his life no more the price he has to pay to not have her in his arms anymore. She saw the ring box and got upset bc she didn’t know he saw her like that considering that fact that someone else swept her heart away

People gave Michael Bolton and Kenny G both a lot of crap for being what we would call Easy Listening, but some of the best singers were in the Easy Listening category (I mean, nobody can say Crosby Stills and Nash aren't fantastic). Kenny G was great at his saxophone and did amazing things with it, and Michael Bolton had a fabulous voice. People made jokes that he was like Fabio from the front of the romance novel covers, and that his music was for women, and so he kind of got slept on. It's nice to see people giving him the props he deserves now.
