Thank you for sharing your experience. Abuse really does not discriminate, it can happen to anyone. And it only escalates, never gets better. Glad you got out of that situation. ❤ I love how y'all put it; "if he's winning, I'm winning and if I'm winning, he's winning" that's totally how it should be, a relationship should never be antagonistic, you should lift each other up, always.

I’m only 2 min in and have to comment something! First, I lost my beloved dog, Buster, in 2016. I have spent many a day crying due to the heartache and missing his companionship. Then this last year was so tough. My older sister was in an abusive relationship & things were scarily escalating fast. We witnessed it even at times and told her to get out but it had to be when she was ready. It took a village, but last year, they finally got divorced. I’m sure seeing our Mom be abused by our dad for many years contributed to my sister trying to make things work with this abusive person. So they’re divorced and they have 3 kids together. They also had two dogs, boxers, who my sister gained custody of, thank goodness. She became overwhelmed quickly being a single mom, making ends meet, working and taking care of kids and dogs. So we collectively decided it was time for myself to have a dog again and we got her 1 year old puppy, Jax, and we’re smitten! She is less overwhelmed since she now only has one dog to worry about & the dogs still see each other bc they’re brothers but are thriving! I never thought I could love a dog like I loved Buster. It’s different, but I absolutely adore Jax and his quirks and now cannot imagine life without him! I wish you two would do a podcast episode on the impact of pet loss and/or grief in general. Anyway, sorry for the long comment. Thanks for covering this topic!! My love to you both ❤❤🤗🤗

It shocks me that someone with Amanda’s personality went through that. I feel like we have similar personalities and I would’ve told that boy child OFF. I agree tho, being so young definitely has an impact on those types of things. It is so important to have ppl around that can help open your eyes. I’m in a similar situation right now actually and I’m a very different person from when the relationship started yrs ago. Thankfully I’m starting to get on the other side of it 🙂💗 thank you for sharing!

Personally, I don’t think it’s relevant what someone’s personality is who’s being abused. Like someone else commented, abuse doesn’t discriminate! It’s easy to say you would tell that boy off but when in the situation, it’s totally different. Just my two cents. I’m sorry you’re going through a similar situation & wish you the best 🤗
