I love to make these simulation videos for you and I am happy that you all like them a lot! The graphics of Arma are very good, it almost looks like in real life. Rather simulations than real war!
I definitely don't want to give the impression that I glorify war, I am just a enthusiastic gamer.
The weapon systems are of course used differently in real life, but I am happy to educate you about these weapons systems, many do not even know that they exist.

C130 is probably the best airplane ever built. I'm thinking came out in the late 50s with Radial engines ,the propeller put off a frequency that cracked the airframe , after figuring it out , changing props far as I know never had another airframe failure , today they changed to turboprop engines. I believe it was the President of Chille who used the 130 as the preferred method of travel.

It never faced a real military. If it would it would get shot down rather quick depending on the enemy it is fighting. It works great on terrorists, militias etc. But once a proper aa system or enemy fighter jets come to play, it is pretty much R.I.P.

@@francisreicherf3544 you didn't get my comment... i said it depends on who the US would be fighting. It would depend on the land etc etc a lot of factors come into play. The last time the US faced a proper military force was during ww2. No one knows how a fight between two super powers would look like today. But one thing is sure, against an enemy with a proper air force and good anti air defence, A ac130 would have little chance seeing how slow it is and what a big targrt it is on top of that. Although i could be wrong. No one knwos. It has never been challenged by another air force.

It's to slow to avoid any real anti air gun fire and even with all it's countermeasures a missile could end up detonating ammunition or sending the plane into a stall if it didn't explode far enough away from the target. I'm not an expert so don't just take my word

Nobody has been successful at shooting down an AC 130 since 1994.

I'd say they'd need a pretty high end SAM to get it, but this is an air dominance environment which likely rules out. The probably has a couple weasels on stand by in the AO as well. Not saying they couldn't knock it down, but intell probably tells them it's not a heavy air defense zone. BTW, chaff only works against radar guided missiles ... the dumb ones. Against a modern missile, chaff doesn't work as well. Against what the guys on the ground are likely to have, flares are going to be your go to.

The plane is very high up, resulting in substantial travel time for the projectile. Even at a 100 meters it takes time for bullets to travel, and it's noticeable.

if you read on the HUD it will say TOF which means "time of flight" and have a number next to it (5.7 for example) this indicates to the tv operator how long in seconds the round will take to get on target and so the weapon systems operator will adjust accordingly, (this is why his shots seems to always be led by a huge amount) the TOF is usually calculated by a laser that's is slaved to the camera giving an up to date reading of the distance from gun to ground and as before mentioned TOF
