Thing about Angus, if you were ever to meet him in person, is that he's a very small, quiet, humble man. If you didn't know any better, you would never guess that he was a rock star, let alone one of the most legendary stars of rock & roll. His stage presence and his sound are iconic.

Angus took on the role of the "School Boy" outfit early in advent of AC DC and then just stuck to it. His "Strut" that he uses on stage, not so much in this video but much like he used in Thunderstruck was borrowed or was rather inspired by Chuck Berry.
@jeff316

Inspired by Berry, who made an elementary form of it popular, but Angus took it to an entirely different level, to the point now where it is synonymous with him.

@@stevenseul361 When they first thought about starting a band, they each were going to wear a different outfit, signifying peple from different walks of life. Angus got the schoolboy outfit and stuck with it (can you even imagine walking on stage for the very first time wearing that? No wonder his energy is always cosmic!). Even the band's name came from the sister. she was sewing while the brothers were talking, and Malcolm saw the words "AC/DC" on the back of the machine. The rest is history.

The band actually had a Bell forged for recording & several tours. The record label thought AC/DC needed a vacation after 6 years touring & loss of Bon so shipped band to Caribbean studio. However a hurricane hit the island & a machete wielding serial killer was loose on the island. That inspired this song.

Brian and Bon sounds so different, even if there are small parts in their singing that is pretty similar. Howerever, they both fits in the bands sound so well. What I think is incredible is how they knew Brian should fit in (whoever it was to recommend him for the band), as he was doing a totally different thing in Geordie. In AC/DC he's singing in a way he had never done before (as far as I know).
@ROCKnRLR

Bon saw Brian when in Geordie and he told the Young brothers that he ever needed to be replaced, Brian was the guy. Someone in AC/DC's management remembered this and called Brian to audition.
@royhorn2782
@royhorn2782 Жыл бұрын
Bon is the one who mentioned Brian to Angus and Malcolm. Brian was the lead singer of the band Geordie. Bon went to their concert and was very impressed with Brian. Bon simply loved how Brian sang. Rumor has it that Bon's family suspected that Bon was thinking about quitting ACDC and show business. He was getting tired of the Road and was thinking about settling down and becoming a family man. Unfortunately, Bon was always drinking to deal with his loneliness and he died before he could make up his mind. (This story comes directly from Bon's brother). As far as Brian's voice changing to sound like Bon's, no he already sang this way when he was with Geordie. ACDC if anything changed their music some in order to fit better to Brian's abilities. ACDC actually took on a harder sound. Bon's voice was different. He could not have made the Back in Black album sound as good as it was with Brian. The instrumentation would have had to accommodate Bon's cleaner voice.

I think "Mutt" Lange is the one who pushed Brian to sing those high notes (per Brian in an interview). Mutt did the same with Joe Elliot with the records he produced with Def Leppard. Elliot attests that Mutt pushed him to tears to get those high notes for the album Hysteria. Being the perfectionist, Mutt would have Def Leppard do several takes for a song, taking them to their limits. Malcolm Young didn't like Mutt's process and didn't like the way he "sheened" AC/DC up (Mutt spent hours getting the perfect drum sounds for the For Those About To Rock album for example). This lead AC/DC to go more raw and less polished for the Flick Of The Switch album without the aid of someone like "Mutt" Lange.

Bon would never of left AC/DC, he was the Essence of a Rock N Roll singer and loved it. He left us to early and we all missed out of his Lyrics to new songs him and Mal and Angus would of put together. Bon's mother told the Boys to keep playing as that's what Bon would of wanted the band to do.

Was criticized by everyone, like too noisy or “ forget it that’s not music and you aren’t a singer “ 😢😢😢😢 but the time frame was perfect, was the time when the Classic rock dead already and the world was full of blended music, funky, disco, jazz and many singers were using orquestas. The rock music needed a spark to lit the rocket. Was critical times for the heavy metal and their sub genres 😊😊😊😊 I hope that you’re learning a little bit more every day Until next time

You have to do a live version of For Those About To Rock by AC/DC. They use Cannons as a musical instrument!

Hardly the first to do that, some guy called Pyotr did that back in the 1800's and I don't know if he was first, there's a lot of similarity between classical and rock/metal

True. Bon saw Brian perform once and told the boys about him, so in a way, Bon picked his own replacement.

ACDC's 'energy' comes from their rhythm guitar heavy riffs. Malcolm Young is one of the best rhythm guitarists of all time. He had a somewhat special style involving playing open chords through a series of multiple Marshall amps, utilising low volume/low gain but 'amplified UP' by the series of amps.

OMG thank you so much for AC/DC Hells Bells. I just had a flashback to 1980 when I seen them live. I couldn't hear for days. They were on the Back in Black world tour. Tickets were 10.00. Got my shirt. I lost mind seeing them.

I'm a little late. But the biggest songs with Bon Scott are "Highway to Hell" (the last album before he died), and "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap". But I would recommend "Its a Long Way to the Top". It's from there very first album and there's an instrument they play for the song that will Blow Your Mind!!

I was so lucky to be of the age that I was able to see so many of the GREAT groups in person. AC/DC, Phil Collins with Genesis, Rod Steward with Faces, Led Zeppelin, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and the incomparable Freddie Mercury and Queen! Thank you for reacting to the “older” groups.

There are so many great songs throughout their career. You need to check out AC/DC with Bon Scott. I recommend "Highway To Hell", "Shot Down In Flames", "Whole Lotta Rosie", "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap". Way too many to list.

Here in Sydney we have always had school uniforms and we dressed like Angus with the little cap. He would come home from school and go straight to his guitar to play it. His older sister thought it looked cute and suggested he appear like that on stage.

sic Angus Young is the lead guitarist of the Australian rock band AC/DC. He is known for his energetic performances and unique style of playing the guitar. Young began playing the guitar at the age of 15. He was influenced by his older brother, who was also a musician. Young’s style of playing is based on blues and rockabilly. He often uses Gibson guitars and Marshall amplifiers. Young is considered one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time. He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

there is still so much you have yet to discover of Acca Dacca (as they are nicknamed here in Australia). They are one of my first musical memories as my parents took me along to a show in 1975 when they were still playing the pub scene a little - I was only 5 at the time.

Evidently during the recording of the Back in Black album, the producer Mutt Lange kept urging Brian to ‘sing it higher’ on each rehearsal and they ended up with a phenomenal album.
