@@killerfitz84 Indeed. Even earlier than this if lucky they recorded in film, almost competes with anything today when converted to digital. Led Zeppelin's "The Song Remains the Same" concert at Madison Square Garden from 1973 on DVD is a great example. Looks better than any concert filmed today. There are copies on KZfaq, but a little lower quality than the original DVD. Check them out if you want to see what a recording can do in 1973.

I'm a celebrant and at a funeral I was officiating this one time they played Whole Lotta Rosie. Apparently the guy was a massive AC/DC fan. So in this oh so quiet cemetary (Rookwood - if your from NSW Australia) they absolutely cranked it, So much so that just about every head was banging hard. Hard to forget that one..

I saw this lineup at the Tennessee theater in Nashville May of 1979. I had a hiss in my ears for three days. The Tennessee theater is a very small venue maybe seating 500 people. Note the nap sack Angus has on. It is the battery pack and transmitter for his wireless guitar cord. I think one of the first transmitters of this kind.

I didn't know how lucky I was in '77 when I saw a then relatively unknown band called AC/DC open for Aerosmith. The crowd actually was a bit rude when they started, but after Angus picked up a few things that had been thrown on stage and threw them back, then proceeded to go on a sheer shredfest as only he can do, things turned around. Frankly, Aerosmith was a bit tame in comparison. But my buddy and I couldn't hear anything for about a half hour once the concert was over. Pretty sure I permanently lost a bit of hearing that night, but hearing and seeing Bon and Angus and the the boys in their absolute prime is something I will never forget.

YES .. Heels Bells was a great album but this is ACDC........... it was downhill after that as far as I am concerned... they still kicked ass but the vocals were not there.... sadly

It wasn’t an arena, it was a small venue. I saw them on this UK tour in Sheffield in 77. Couple of hundred in crowd at best. The band was fantastic.
