Really wish that AC/DC would release a compilation DVD of the best Axl performances. They are literally keeping his best vocal performances of the last 20 years in a vault. They definitely have a mass of pro-shot/pro-audio material buried.

Damn… Axl is an amazing fit for Ac/Dc. That voice is like a chainsaw. Raw and powerful. Good work Axl. I still love Scott and Johnson. But Considering the strange circumstances that led to this. I think it’s such a cool thing to have the singer of one of the biggest rock bands ever, sing for another one of biggest rock bands ever.

He masterminded a band that should have been the successor to the Rolling Stones. Dudes like that get tons of forgiveness and endless second chances. I really wish we could've gotten that album they were working on in the mid 90s when everything fell apart. Sorum said there was a lot of piano and orchestral stuff. I bet it would've gone in the direction of Estranged-type songs. How fucking sweet would that have been? Axl was getting really good at making grand compositions...

I remember going to the giants stadium reunion of gnr (mets) seeing more people than I've ever seen in my life. That year Axl did more for rock than anyone's done in 15 years ... saved ac/dc and did the gnr reunion. He gets so much hate... when this guy is gone tell me who will be left as a rock giant? @Papatorrejano3 жыл бұрын

The AC/DC stuff is mostly in one particular register and tone for the most part. The GN'R material is much more diverse, even over a few lines of one song. Whilst it's obviously still a hell of a challenge to sing like that, with the AC/DC songs he didn't need to change too much and could concentrate just on that one voice.

To those who say he sounds bad, you probably should have seen him live on the tour if you want to say that. Cell phone audio is not that good. For example, I thought Angus sounded terrible when he performed as a guest with Guns in Sydney, until I found a better recording that proved to me otherwise. It's all down to how close they sat to a speaker in the crowd and how good the phone's mic is (hint: cell phone mics are terrible). When we hear soundboard audio of this performance, then you reserve the right to call it bad. Until then, you can't assume the performance was either spectacular or terrible unless you yourself were there. The best thing we have is the word of the uploader, as they were there and saw it firsthand. Why do you think we have live DVDs and albums instead of always listening to cell phone audio? Because it sounds bad.

You are correct, I´ve been looking for some mixing desk recording because of it, to check the real thing, because he did receive many compliments along the tour.

I saw the show in Buffalo that Axl did. In all my years seeing AC/DC since 1988, I would say the Axl show was the greatest one. The band had more energy, there seemed to be the urge to change up the set - honestly it was night and day between that and the first leg of the tour with Brian which I caught in Detroit.
