It amazes me how you address so many different issues that can help others ( including myself) to determine what a symptom is and to resolve the issue. Thanks for all you do and the time you spend.

Could I have damaged my AC form incline dumbbell flies? I think I had my arms too high and went too low, felt a pop in my shoulder and the vibration went though my collar bone and its been clicking and cracking for a bout a week with some pain and soreness. I get pain and grinding when I raise my arm to the top just as you said.

Dr Story, I have been studying Dr Gohl. I understand that to adjust L5 you adjust PA and across the body. Since you studied under him - what is the line of drive used to adjust the sacroiliac joint? Thank you for your input.

Here's the secret recipe: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eayXlNKqrdSvXZ8.html It's always following the joint lines. Always. but you have to 1. Know them 2. Adapt to the patients' rotation on the table.

Adam J. Story, DC watched the video. Makes sense for adjusting L5. What is the joint line that you use for the SI joint? Thank you

It's kind of hard to do this over KZfaq, but remember the angles that you learned in school for the position of the SI joints? Remember how they're not oriented straight in the sagittal plane? Adjust along that angle, parallel to the joint line. That's the only way I know how to explain it. It's like trying to explain how to through a baseball through KZfaq. Have you taken any Gonstead seminars where you're located?

I just realized that I think I know what you're asking now. Are you talking about the differences between say an ASIN or PIEX or something like that? Even though you're trying to create motion in the joint and not change a static alignment, it's best to learn Gonstead by thinking in terms of static alignment and then as you get used to that, to think of motion, so the line of drive will always be for me the direction of MOTION RESTRICTION rather than one direction only. For example, Dr. Gohl was fascinating to watch especially if he was doing an AS and EX combination move. He'd rotate the pelvis (on the side down) down the table and turn the pelvis (rotating it opposite AS), then pull the EX component upwards and into the sacrum. It was really cool and BAM...Standing Gillette's test was smooth as silk. Took me a couple years to get good at that, but it's worth practicing. Hopefully that helps.

What about rest, don't you think that will help heal a ac sprain. I sprained my ac in boxing and i can still box but i'd rather let it heal as I do feel some of that stiffness you spoke of.

Rest is the least expensive, simplest, best thing you can do. When rest doesn't get it 100%, that's when you need a DC.

How is a chiropractor going to speed up recovery, by the way I've been to one in the last month.

If they do extremity adjusting (many don't) they will assess the SC joint, the AC joint and the scapula. If restrictions of motion are found, they can be corrected. If there are restrictions, then the AC joint may have excessive motion and pain. Secondly, athletic taping. Thirdly, cold laser therapy (see my website). Fourth, cross fiber friction massage to the AC ligaments to stimulate repair. Good question. Thanks for watching and subscribing

Hi Dr. Story, Could you please leave me a comment and give me a medical advice? My symptoms are: 1. I feel pain when palpating the exact point where AC joint is located; 2. As you addressed in this video, there is little to no pain while raising hand to about 150 degree, but there is a stiff pain (not severely painful, though) at the very top when I locate my arm to ear; and 3. I feel pain at AC joint when I do hammer grip with some weights and raise my arm upright from about 40 degree to all the way up. I did lots of sport activities throughout past ten years, basketball, football and boxing. But, there was no major event where I was severely injured. The only event that I remember a damage to AC joint and shoulder area is ten years ago when I was struck directly against a wall. At that time, my shoulder was forced inward, but there was no pain and no pain until today. MRI says no injuries are observable to any ligaments or bones. It just shows quite heavy effusion around AC joint. No swelling is visible. Currently, I am taking NSAID and just simply limiting shoulder movements. This pain came about after I trained for boxing... But, could that event ten years ago cause this pain now after ten years of time? What sort of treatment should I take if the injury is actually AC joint injury? I really need your help. I will not solely rely on your medical advice, nontheless, I would like to hear from your experience. Thank you. Sungwoo

It’s likely we can help. We do see international patients and patients from other states in the USA. The reason why is because we are close to Los Angeles International airport and we have the Camarillo Outlets stores. Many patients travel from China, Japan, Western Europe, etc. These stores are known for their shopping and people travel from all over the world to come here. Here’s the link: www.premiumoutlets.com/outlet/camarillo/about. Simply fly to LAX and you can see me for chiropractic care and shop at the Outlets. The best hotel is the Hampton Inn because it is across the street from the Outlets and it’s on Las Posas Road which is a mile from my office. Here is their website: hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hotels/california/hampton-inn-and-suites-camarillo-OXNHSHX/index.html. Our phone number can be found on my website: www.camarillochiro.com. Lastly, if you view my KZfaq channel, there is an area called “Playlists” where you can find sections on blood pressure, core strengthening, cycling tourism, etc.
