If there isn't enough freon, sometimes the clutch will not turn on long enough to get ice cold.

@goodguygto it was low freon, I only just realised you fixed it, but it was the low freon causing the low pressure switch, and high pressure switch, to not complete the circuit, for some reason, making the AC compressor clutch, engage only for 30 seconds, then disengage, for example, there fore not long enough to get ice cold.

Check if both radiator fans work and it seems like ur car need ac service do ac refill with ac mechanic complete recovery and then vacuum for 20 minutes and recharge correct amount

I have a 2011 Tahoe. Ac compressor replaced. Accumulator replaced. New lines in the engine bay. Coolant level good. Compressor runs. Radiator fans are running. Ac blows ice cold early in the morning and in the evening. Blows really hot mid day when the temperature outside is at its highest. Do you have any ideas?

I have a Kia soul 2012. 2.0L and the compressor are leaking a yellow liquid for some time. I've tried to seal it with RTV silicone, but I think is not working. Do you think I need to replace the compressor? This car has only 73 K miles, so why you think is leaking? We are in winter so we don't use it too much for now, but in summer this place will get 105 to 115 degrees. -- I have a quote to replace it for $ 1700.00

I refill the refrigerant. But at idle my ac doesn’t work but when speed up above 2000 or 2500 rpm the. It starts working slowly.. and normal driving it works fine. So my mechanic told its ur compressor is not kicking in . So we need to replace it .(have Audi a6 2005 3.2 Quattro) What u think ?

I have a Sienna with rear AC and label show me same amount of max 1.91 LB. Guy on the video said sienna with single AC and has same amount of freon as mine. I wonder about AC cold at70's aft 85° not cold, but I test the right vent is colder 15° vs the left vent AC on, its this could be a sign of low freon also? Thank you!

Mines randomly stops blowing cold air. It does it mainly in the day. At night it rarely does it. I wanna say low freon since I got the car with 87k miles and already at 145 3 years. I drive a lot and always use my AC. In the day with sun blasting in Houston. AC is close to non existent. How much would this job cost?

Yes it seems light when idling but cool when driving. As well on a cold day and 100% rain i cannot keep the windows from frosting. Air on outside AIR ac is on. I have to push front defrost to keep the windshield and door windows clear. Any ideas.

If it’s almost 1lb low doesn’t it have a leak? Shouldn’t you recover, then vacuum, then pressure test to find a leak?

@@RBTheMechanic I’ve seen some pull a vacuum (maybe didn’t do long enough?)and still have leaks, using a dye you still have to find where it comes out after you fill system . Just watched someone use shop air to find leaks with success you can hear leak and see bubbles with soapy water. System is high pressure so most won’t find leaks until you refill. Trying to find a definitive solution for 1st time system fixing. You’re the 1st I seen add oil to compressor which is proper, been looking at home AC and what’s needed because similar system and process. Thank you for your reply.

Hello i have a 2013 hyundai elantra i followed instructions, and took it to the dealer here in el paso..to do the a/c service with the machine. got the correct freon in there now.still Only works when its under 70 degrees outside anything over that the a/c will blow hot air. I check the compressor and the clutch is still engaged. Could it be a weak compressor??? Maybe weak in a way where in the mornings its not that hot, so its able to do its job.but once its hotter it cant hang anymore??

@RBTheMechanic yes the compressor turns on. Clutch engages when i turn on the switch...i just checked it with my gauges... a/c on full blast...the red gauge at 150... the blue at the max. Like if the car would be off...i accelerate the vehicle to see if the compressor will actually compress and do its job.but nothing. I poke at the low pressure side but looks like only air comes out. No liquid.

@RBTheMechanic good morning yesterday at 90° outside. The blue was at 120 psi and the red was at 150 psi..with a/c on,the blue gauge would not move..... this morning its 70° outside started the car, blue gauge was at 75psi.red gauge was at 120psi. Turned on a/c, blue gauge only went down from 75psi to 65psi....Turned off the a/c,guage went back up to 75psi. Kept climbing slowly. Turned on a/c again, clutch engages. But pressure on blue gauge did not go back down.

My 2012 chevy camaro isn’t blowing cold enough air, I replaced expansion valve, condenser, compressor, even the ambient temperature sensor, and still not blowing cold enough, I vacuumed the system with an ac pump and refilled it with two 12oz refrigerant and still not working any advice would be appreciated, thanks also gauge in the low pressure line is higher than the high pressure line, any advice would be appreciated thanks

Check the capacity I think 2 cans of 12oz is too much I think u put too much and too much will not give u cold

@@RBTheMechanic Even when I do 1 can and 2 third of the other which is about 20oz temperature will not change at all, it woul be still around 70-75 degrees F, do you think flushing the ac evaporator and lines would help to reach the temperature?

@@rpdfix6056 no that might not help ok so I would try check blend door if it opens all the way other wise try having it add Freon with ac machine cans r not ur best option not all of it go in if that don’t work it could be faulty ac compressor did u replace the orfis tube. And too much oil can cause this issue also

@@RBTheMechanic Another thing to mention, the low pressure line right outs side the firewall is really cold it even creates condensation, and the high pressure is warm which i believe is normal and that makes me believe that the problem is a clogged evaporator B/c when i replace the expansion valve a lot of black/grey oil came out of it, which at the time I had thought it was normal

Usully when people tell me that or customers that come in have same complaint it could be leak in system and Freon is low. Or machine failed to do the correct amount Freon… I would reservice it also check to see if ur radiator fans work with ac on if it got 2 fans both should be running

Hey my car isn’t blowing cold at all. I believe I do hear the compressor kick on. I changed the expansion block and the condenser. Is the compressor messed up? I got some people at a shop to remove and put freeon in it (with a machine) and it didn’t work so they removed it all and told me the compressor is probably bad. Is that the case?

( DO YOU HAVE 2 FANS BEHIND THE RADIATOR ? ? ? ) My Nissan Frontier did the same thing , I had 2 elec. fans under the hood next to the radiator , one runs for the radiator & the other for the ac condenser. The one for the ac condenser kicks in only when it reaches a certain temperature, So run your car with the ac on until it reaches operating temperature then stop the car with the ac on & leave it running look under the hood and watch the 2 fans, the one for the radiator should be running and the one for the ac should turn on after the car idles for a minute or so or may be running. It is thermostatically controlled so it will run and turn off as needed. Hope this helps

not sure why he didnt respond, but besides the fan the previous commenter said. Your compressor could be failing and when you speed up your RPMs via driving that helps it spin faster to keep up. Or your ac clutch is failing and dragging. Im currently in the same boat my ac clutch was dragging and turning off and on periodically. I recharged the system enough and now the ac clutch stays engaged and stay off when you ask for ac. But my ac is only reducing the temperature of the air by like 20 degrees so its weak but when i increase my RPM the compressor spins faster and it cools more.... good luck. I hope you figured it out by now

@@RBTheMechanic yes i used the machine i used to be a tech for acura i didnt skimp on anything the fans come on new drier its in the 30s for about half an hour then warms up and low side you can hold it no frost after 30 mins really wierd no leaks

Bro my car not cold during idle. But when car moving becomes cold. Fan is working and highspeed. Maybe compressor problem? Ay idle 40psi lowside. 200 highside Rev 2000rpm 30psi lowside. 200 highside

I’m thinking u need to reservice the ac system it seems have about fair amount pressure but it could be faulty air pressure instead of refrigeration

I have a 1988 Toyota Cressida GX71 with the 1G-E engine. AC is not blowing cold on hot day, but blows cold at night. Replaced compressor, filter drier, a few lines also get replaced. Also it's overheating if the AC on at idle, but the clutch fan is working properly (it is NOT free spinning). Added auxiliary condensor fan. It's got a mechanical thermostat (installed by another mechanic). Tested it with ice and it clicks normally like it should, it wont click if installed in car (AC evaporator not cool enough to make it clicks?). What could be the problem?

U need to recover oil and refrigeration and reservice the system propperly with ac machine vaccume it for 20 minutes then recharge the system with correct amount oil and freon

@@RBTheMechanic already vacuumed it for like 2hrs, added nd oil 8 and 650g of r134a (following the Technical Service bulletin pdf about r134a retrofit file by released Toyota in November 1998)

Had my Datsuns ac recharged but it's only cold at night. Has the bloke stuffed up or is it a relay I need to look for. Edit I have touched the ac pipes and it's very cold so I'm unsure what's wrong.

@@DatsunBloke7357 what pressure reading u have on low and high ? Usully when it’s like that cold only at night it’s due to low Freon it’s making less cooling The machine can mess up the amount it put in also it could be weak ac conpressor
