Acana finally has wet cat food! Get my nutritional review and see my mother's cat testing it out.
Sorry, forgot to clarify in the video. All products are for adult cats except for tuna and chicken recipe which says “kitten” on the can.
2023 update: Mars, the candy bar company, bought out Orijen and Acana. Be aware that quality will likely change (for the worst)!

Just bought a can of Tuna and Chicken and it no longer has chicken heart. It does have chicken liver. # 5 on ingredient list.

Finally I found a great healthy wet cat food for my kitties. I'm Particular on what cat food I feed them. I purchase their Acana wet food at petland and Pisces Pet store. Thank you Acana ! 🐱 From Calgary, AB Canada. PS... There favorites are Beef, chicken and lamb.

My picky cat thoroughly enjoys this stuff and the ingredients stuck out to me amongst the other brands at the store. I think cat wet food is too expensive these days and this stuff definitely is a pocket drainer but worth it for me right now.

Thanks so much for all the info. I’m in Louisville KY and buy this at Feeder’s Supply and my kitten loves this canned food. It’s so moist! Highly recommend!

Thank you so much for all your helpful content and the hard work you put in to research and review what helps keep our cats healthy! I was excited to see this video because I haven’t seen much about this food yet. My cats actually all 3 ate the Acana Lamb Liver recipe for dinner tonight. I’ve been rotating that with their other foods, and they seem to all like it. I found it at Pet Supplies Plus, in-store.

A Petco worker advised me to buy Acana or Origen mainly because its protein based. I think I'll stick to Origen. Glad I switched from Hill's science.

This sounds like another good choice. We tried out the new Orijen wet last week in 3 different flavors and my cats really loved all of them!! I like to give them a lot of variety in flavors and brands so I give them something a little different every night. Every morning they get all raw and at night they get the canned along side of a tiny bit of Orijen dry to satisfy their crunch addiction! I usually rotate with the canned between, Tiki cat after dark, Instinct original chicken, duck, or salmon, and now probably the new Orijen wet and will try the new Acana. I see that Instinct has recently changed their recipes and I've heard a lot of people complaining that their cats don't like it any more. Mine didn't seem to notice the difference. Maybe you could do a video of a comparison between the new and old ingredients, I'd like to hear your opinion on if you think they improved it or made it worse! Thanks for all you do!!!😻😸

yes variety in proteins and brands is great! instinct changing their formula is exactly why I suggest variety. I’m working on a video for that next month (:

That's where my mom got it too! So far just the smaller 3 oz cans. I haven't seen the larger ones.

I have 2 young cats. I've been feeding them Purina One Grain Free wet food. It's $1.10 a can, and the flavors I get do not contain carbs. Is this a good brand?

I tried instinct and they loved it but they stopped eating it. I picked up Acana at Petco this weekend and they like both the lamb and beef.....my boy loves lamb I still want to try homemade but read conflicting info in needing to add vitamins....

I wonder why cat foods seem to always have a mixture of different foods... I made many jars of home-canned pure beef, pure chicken, pure lamb, pure tuna... without salt for my kitty. I think home-canned pure foods make more sense than a mixture. I found that processing my own cat food is much, much cheaper than any wet cat food I have seen, and then I know exactly what is in it... I may in future make chicken thighs with chicken livers together or beef with beef liver together... I see no point or advantage in mixing up meats.

@@AG-nn8lp Well my kitty didn't like any of the canned food I made for him so I am making fresh foods and not canning it. He likes roast chicken, and steaks done in The air-fryer. I haven't found anywhere to buy fresh liver yet. I think his favorite is pork chops also cooked in the air fryer. I cut everything into little paper thin pieces and feed them to him one piece at a time. (not on the floor, of course)... He doesn't seem to like fish.

Hey Jess, my cat used to eat raw food (before i adopted him) and i'm trying to get him back to them, but i'm still confused with the portion size. his former owner didn;t really calculate the portion. for example, my 4 mos cat weighs about 2 kg/4,4 pounds. so how do i calculate his food portion? is it 3% * 4,4 pounds? thanks.

He weighs 10 pounds already? Huh interesting. Typically that is their adult projected weight. But also some breeds are larger than others. Kittens need to eat as much as required by their adult projected weight. You can use this calculator: hare-today.com/raw_food_feeding_calculator. Just switch to kg for weight.

Hi, I've been watching your vids and you inspired me to transition my cats to raw. However, my older cat he likes to eat raw with wet food chunks in gravy. I cut his raw food into small chunks and eats them mixed with gravy sauce from wet food pouches , but it seems like he loses interest when I introduce him raw food only without wet food as he basically like the gravy in those pouches. Can you tell me is this good for him ?. I hope you answer my question. Have a good day

I'm glad my videos have been helpful! I would say if he only eats it with the gravy it's better than not eating it at all. I'd suggest very slowly decreasing the amount of gravy you give each meal so that he barely notices. If you would like to stop feeding gravy.

My picky guy loves acana and I just bought our third flavor, recommended here, Chicken & Tuna… didn’t realize it’s KITTEN FOOD! Can I safely feed this to my 9 yo? I know kitten food has more protein and fat… someone please answer??? Lol

Yes. And we have a couple of fosters that are allergic to fish. Feeding time is quite the production, to keep everyone eating the correct food.

That’s my problem is my oldest of 3 cats is allergic to something idk if it’s chicken or fish. We have had to get him steroid shots to help alleviate his symptoms. Poor baby had so many sores around his head and neck from scratching and he’s licked so much fur on his stomach that he’s broken the skin. Vet said cats are more allergic to fish than chicken but I’ve read it’s the opposite or about the same. I’m having a hard time finding a wet food that doesn’t have fish or chicken. My middle child is very finicky 🤨 but inwas splitting a 3 oz can of fish or chicken flavor wet food from Friskies between them twice a day. Vet said to stop them both. I bought the green pea and duck from Natural Balance. It has salmon oil but no chicken so I’m hoping it’s a minuscule amount that it won’t cause allergies 🤧 I don’t think I can do raw because of the middle child being so finicky 😖 What do you recommend that’s chicken and fish free?

@@islandgurl4123 I don't know if you are asking me or the OP. A chicken allergy may include other poultry, such as turkey or duck. There is a product called Koha Limited ingredient Diet. Each contains only one meat. They have rabbit, duck and turkey. Most lamb products contain some chicken. Hopefully Jess bails me out here!
