Thank you for this great video, Heather! I heard from an ex-occultist that Halloween is a day of the most curses, spells, and human sacrifices, especially babies. Going to mass, confession, , rosaries, and praying novenas are powerful tools to keep the devil away and reclaim All Hollows Eve as the holy day it is. On Halloween I will take the kids to mass and bless the candy. We will also go to mass on all saints and souls day and visit the cemetery. We have a picture frame of names of loved ones who passed with a candle. These are great ideas! Thank you for sharing always. May your day be blessed not stressed ❤🙏🕊️

We dont make Halloween a big deal at our home, just a personal choice. We also dont watch Halloween movies especially if they have witches, ghosts, and demons for obvious reasons. Unfortunately A lot of people who are into the occult use this day for the bad, and ive heard of people actually tainting the candy with evil, so the complete opposite of blessing the candy. But we love all saints day and we get dressed up as the saints with other Catholic families and we have a big party, its really sweet and we love it. 😊

I agree. Prominent exorcist and former occultists often say amateurs are active on Halloween. The serious Satanists are active at Easter tide

i think most devoted practicing catholics agree about avoiding watching demonic movies but the evil with candy just means... even more reason to bless the candy! :)

Hi Heather ❤ I just went to confession to be in grace for All Saint's Day. Luckily my children are an adults so I do not need to explain them. Our priest will hold the mass on 1st and 2nd of November in church and on 2nd on the cemetery to pray for our deceased. I wish all of commenting people peaceful reflection on All Saint's Day and prayer time for those who need our prayer while in purgatory. God bless you all.😇😇😇 Thank you Heather for this video.

My mom always told us that we don't celebrate halloween, but we always went trick or treating. It was confusing, but when I was catechising 1st graders in church out parish did an All Saints Day party. That was the first time I saw how you can celebrate Halloween in a Catholic way. My son is 11 months and my friend invited me to her home for an All Saints Day party. I'm very excited to celebrate this beautiful feast day with other Catholic families!

Heather you make some really great points. Thank you for this video! My son is only 17 months old right now but I’ve been thinking a lot about this topic and I just don’t get a good feeling about joining the crowd completely on this one. My struggle is how irrelevant the practice of dressing up and collecting candy seems to me. I just don’t think we need to join the world in making our Halloween completely secular. It’s also not a day of celebration, right? It’s supposed to be on All Saints Day. Having said all that, I like the idea of carving pumpkins with catholic images and perhaps thinking about death or making some “memento mori” theme, but then making All Saints Day the main focus to celebrate.

Hi Heather! Ok, I’m just throwing my two cents in these comments and genuinely would like to hear other Catholics perspectives. I understand about acknowledging October 31st as “All Hallows Eve” (much like acknowledging Christmas Eve) however, why celebrate on this day? Even if it’s not evil/scary costumes or scary movies, etc. Why not just celebrate the Feast of All Saints Day on November 1st? I’ve always wondered why Catholics still participate in Halloween activities before or on October 31st. Especially, when the occult has admitted that this day is the highlight of their year.
@jennifer8535
@jennifer8535 10 ай бұрын
I’ve heard Fr. Chris Alar explain that the tradition of trick-or-treating used to be called “souling” and originally people would go door to door collecting soul cakes and in exchange they would pray for the people who gave them the cakes and their family, living and dead. Oct. 31st All Hallows’ Eve, Nov. 1st All Saints Day and Nov. 2nd All Souls’ Day collectively are called All Hallows’ Tide. 31st is a vigil, 1st is a memorial celebrating all the Saints in heaven that have NOT been canonized (as all canonized Saints have their own feast days) and 2nd is a day of prayer for all the other souls, specifically those in purgatory, as they will most definitely become saints in heaven one day they just have not reached heaven yet.
@jennifer8535
@jennifer8535 10 ай бұрын
Protestants attempted to ban All Hallows’ Tide because it was Catholic and they do not believe in praying for the dead, after Irish Catholics immigrated they attempted to bring it back somehow but it got hijacked into what we now think of as scary/evil. This should not surprise us because we know the devil always tries to distort and confuse us about things that are holy and bring us closer to God. Like the attacks on marriage and the family going on… just because it’s being hijacked, just because there is confusion around it, and that others try to redefine it, doesn’t mean we should give up on it. Quite the opposite actually.

My family does Halloween because; 1.) It's a fun way for us to participate in our community, in a way that no other holiday in our culture really offers. It's the one time of year neighbors really interact, and there's nothing inherently immoral about dressing in a costume and getting candy. 2.) For whatever reason, it's the one holiday a year that my husband's entire extended family can actually attend. We all meet up at my in-laws and go trick or treating. 3.) I really love making costumes. It's an artistic outlet for me (and there's really no room for that with saint costumes...there's only so many religious habits you can do, and everyone else is either in a robe, knight armor, or dressed like a princess). 4.) We work it into celebrating all saints and all souls. The candy we get on Halloween goes to decorate saint sugar cookies the next day. We talk about the spooky stuff and how that reminds us that we're going to die one day (there's a reason a lot of medieval Christian art included skeletons), and how the work we do on Earth matters in Heaven. Then we make sure to visit a cemetery on All Souls Day, and keep pictures of our dead loved ones up during November (the area we live in is close to Mexico, so Dia de Los Muertos is a big deal here. Having that cultural support helps too).

Me too. This is the date that Luther left the Church and many souls have gone lost with the enemy. Satanics are very open on how special this day is for them. We shouldn't have nothing to do with the wordly practice of dressing up, eventhough the intention is good. I agree, other date can be used to dress up as a prince,ss. Not on 31st october! Really disappointed, true catholicism is disappearing.

I am from Spain. A few decades ago, when my parents were young, here almost no one knew anything about Halloween, just what you could see in some movies from the United States like E.T., but as we are a traditionaly catholic country the people just celebrated the All Saints Day and the All Deceased Day. Over the time, Halloween has being taking the place for many people of these very important days for our faith and our culture, reemplacing all the sacred and beautifull things for the dark and demoniac. Every year the eve of All Saints Day more people comit more bad and dangerous things, even ataking other people, robering... But since Halloween seems to be a day that has arrived to stay, in many places we trie to use these day to prepare for the two importants days coming, especially with kids and teenagers. In the churchs and diocese we celebrate"Holywins" the day of All Saints Eve. These day we prepare activities for the kids and teenagers, they dres up like saints and we trie to remembre all day the real meaning of these days. Also the teenagers and youths usualy stay all nigt praying and watching over the Consacrated Host. The days of All Saints Day (a festivity, these day we dont have school or work) and All Deceased Day we have a lot of traditions we go to mass, we eat traditional sweets, we go to the cementery...

Same thing I said, Halloween is my Christmas 🎃. I have Halloween themed stuff in my bedroom along with artwork of my favorite heavy metal bands, this Halloween I got up and did my morning prayers and I watched daily mass on EWTN on the Eve of Halloween October 30th. Also did my night prayers about how this year went and I passed candy to the trick or treaters. Next Halloween I am going to spend my morning watching daily mass and then do Halloween activities, scary movies and so on.

All Hallows Eve, All Saints Day, I'm thinking of doing a New Saint each year for All Saints Day, All Souls Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Ash Wednesday, When I go on Hiatus in preparation for the upcoming Year, with a couple of vids for St. Patrick's Day and St. Joseph. Then I come back in full force on Easter, and every 3rd day there after with Tent Pole vids. If you watch the final 2 scores in Fantasia They are A Night on Bald Mountain representing Halloween, and Ave Maria Representing All Saints Day and hope. Well there was Halloween a few years back when a girl wanted to be a witch for Halloween, it's one of the most basic original costumes, And Then Wiccans were all "No you can't do that, it's making fun of our religion. When In fact the costume was originally used to blend in. I always feel cleansed after a humble confession to the Lord. Uh, Oh Your son and Daughter are the wrong color for Black Panther and Snow White😁, I'm Joking of course, Although Black Panther is a Black dude and the new Snow White is Latina, Snow White is German and can be white, And The Black Panther costume is like the Spider-Man Costume where it covers everything so Color doesn't matter. Okay I see St. Michael, The Arch-Angel, and St. Pope John-Paul II. I know that's not Fr. McGivney, Although we are praying for his Canonization he is Blessed Michael McGivney.

Heather, I think you should do a video on positive body image for women, a girl I cared for very much stoped talking with me after a week of deeply warm texts after I wanted us to exchange our messenger contacts on Catholic Match, She is heavy after she put on weight as she reached 30 while bing very slender as a teen. I feel if she wasn't so self conscious she would have more relaxed and less worried, I am convinced she was afsrid I would think she was ugly, I don't and I think her heavier body is beautiful, just as beautiful as was when she was thin in her late teens. It hurts a lot I never got to tell her I don't ,mind at all, and how she should always think her body is beautiful.
