Hello everyone, welcome back to Assetto Corsa Competizione for a really tough challenge today. It’s the SimRaceShop GT3 Series on Low Fuel Motorsport - 45 minutes at Monza with a mandatory pitstop.
My LFM ACC rating is lower than its ever been, which means I’m in the bottom split for this one. That should mean I’m a little more competitive, and I’ll be starting from P11 on a grid of 31. Yep… 31 cars heading into T1 at Monza. Wish me luck!

My wife is chuckling at the idea of me watching a video game race with commentary... I love it! Great race and engaging commentary, had to clench a few times! And had a good laugh at "Hopefully it'll be the only hit from behind I'll get..." BANG 1:15 haha. Keep it up Chris!

quck tip for the pitstop, if your car is about to go down just keep your finger on the starter, like 2 or 3 seconds before your car gets released and keep it pressed until your car is fully turned on and ready to drive again. your car will turn on as fast as possible when you touch the ground

Ahh thank you, great tip. Must admit I’ve got settings on auto-start at the moment, which is slower still. I wiped my pc a while ago and reinstalled all the games. Keep forgetting to set my buttons for manual ignition. Will do it today!

This is, unfortunately, why I have given up on ACC. It’s just filled with people who drive like you are not there. I’ve tried for years to like it. I just can’t do it anymore. Love your content though

Yeah, sadly there does seem to be a lot of drivers about who get into the habit of using the car ahead of them as a barrier to get them stopped into corners. For some reason, I find it far more common in ACC than the other sims.

Thanks mate, yeah often just playing it safe and trying to stay out of trouble is the best way. Got a bit lucky with the quick pitstop too… gained 4 places in the pits 🤣

Just did this race as well. Bock took me out on lap 2 turn 1. Unfortunately I didn't have the same good result that you did. Spent the whole race trying to recover. Ended up finishing exactly where I started. Good collision avoidance when those two in front of you converged. Good result :)

Ahh unlucky mate. This was actually my second attempt at the race. First attempt was a complete disaster - wasn’t able to avoid a crash in front of me, got wiped out and shown the meatball flag. Ended up finishing P35 with -130 loss to the rating! Which explains why it’s so low in this video 🤣

When you see a new CR vid with ACC, LFM and Monza in the title there has to be some trepidation in pressing the play button... I do think you were pushing your luck though with the attempted Parabolica overtake.... where you riding the optimism wave from the the earlier escape leading up to Ascari? 🤣..good job sir it so good to have you back again

@@nickstone3606Haha. The big drops in rating have actually done me a favour. Before, I was getting dropped into higher splits and felt a bit out of my depth. Now, a few splits lower, I feel like I’ve found a more competitive level 😃

Cheers mate. Yeah I still don’t know how I managed to make 4 positions through the pit stop! I guess the other guys has bumps and chose to get repairs done.

Hello Chris, S. Mbugua here. Would have wanted to show up on your channel after a cleaner race haha. The incident after Lesmo 2 was unlucky, I wasn’t sure whether the car would stay on the right or bounce back so I slowed down. I was gonna swerve to the right but you didn’t slow down so I had nowhere to go. Anyways cheers, hope to see you on track again

Hello mate. Ahh yeah sorry you came off worst in that incident. I was lucky, being further back, I had more time to realise he was coming back on track and that I needed to go right. When I realised you would need to move right too, that’s when I decided to hit the grass. Great reactions from you… to understand what was happening in front AND behind you, at the same time. Really good work. Hope to see you on track again!

Nice one, I’ve never tried it as I don’t have a PS. Tempted to get a new console though, and might try a PS for a change. I’ve got an old Xbox One which is a good 6-7 years old now. I’ve got Forza 7 on it, which I have a blast at sometimes on controller.

Yeah, enjoyment is very much based on surviving the first lap or two. This was my second attempt… the first, I was in the pits for repairs within 5mins of race start… finished P35 and -130 to the rating!

@@chrisrogerssimracing I had one of those around PR yesterday. Was absolutely fuming. Started P3. Got past P2 at T1/T2 then leader loses it at T5. Instead of holding onto the brake and letting everyone go, he's trying to get back on track right in my path. So, hits me and then I get another hit by P3 as he's trying to avoid the accident. Angry, I start storming through the pack at the back straight. There's more carnage at the right hander with one car flying through the air and several others going to wide that Spanish border patrol want to have a word with then. Then at the next right I get hit again and this time it's catastrophic. The worst thing is the amount of suffering your ELO and SR get in situations like this when you're the victim of it all.

I ran this race earlier this week, my pace of 1:48's should've been good enough to finish in the top half but turn 1carnarge knocked me to the back behind cars turning in 1:50's and defending their position and finished 18th 😐

Yeah that pace would have been more than enough for a strong finish. But it’s always a lottery at Monza, whether you can escape without damage. This was my second attempt at the race. First attempt earlier in the week, I was involved in the T1 pileup and then hit someone who span in front of me on lap 3. Car was totalled so had a meatball flag and ended up P35.
