Never ceases to amaze me how much the media loves Miami in the off season. They have been a top 2-3 ACC team for the past 5 seasons, in the offseason.

Cane fans are so desperate for a shot at relevance that they literally just make things up. After losing 2 WRs and a TE to the draft, FSU's top 3 returning WRs eclipse that number (Jakhi Douglas 14, Williamson 9, Poitier 6). That doesn't even include their returning production at TE and RB where they like to throw it in equal volume, nor does it factor in transfers which FSU has tremendous success in creating immediate production. As far as FSU transfers with starting experience, both DJU and Lolohea started at Oregon State, MJJ was a part-time starter at UGA including the SECCG, Riley was a part-time starter at Auburn, Cooper started at Colorado, Leonard started at UF. The rest are younger guys who were getting developed as rotational pieces on powerhouse programs like Bama. But yeah, keep using inflated stats against inferior competition as to why Miami is the offseason champs for the 21st year in a row. Your beloved X had all those yards, yet had 1 rec (7 yds) in 2021, 2 rec (25 yds) in 2022, and 0 rec in 2023 against FSU.

Man, lesson learned. Do not look at the chat from the live casts of these things. That was some ridiculously toxic nonsense. I think 4-5 people dominated the chat and argued about Miami the whole time. Onto the Shot Call for Miami, Ward having a top 5 year, the game really must have changed because I'm not seeing much at the top end for Miami QBs in terms of raw production. In many ways that makes sense, Miami's always been best when they were balanced. If they weren't balanced they tended to just be terrible. To wit, TVD was our sixth most productive QB all time in passing yards, terrible results When I was looking at Ward on youtube after the suggestion to watch the Washington State vs Oregon State game, and I was sitting thinking about the last time we had a QB that good. I felt like it was Kaaya, and I looked it up, and sure enough there's Brad Kaaya sitting at #1 all time in passing yards for Miami. The fact that Miami never had a defense in those three years (yeah he's #1 in passing with 3 years under his belt, every other top 5 QB had a full four seasons at Miami including Gino). Thinking about all that, other than balanced play calling I couldn't imagine a healthy Ward having anything less than a top 5 all time Miami Hurricane QB performance this year in terms of pure stats. Kaaya's 2016 season is the one to look at, 3532 yards passing, 62% completion, 27td/7int. I think that's achievable for Ward in this offense. TVD, even with all his inconsistencies and issues was on pace for just under 3250 yards if he plays a full season (had 2703 in 10 full games). 3500 yards with a more confident passer (whatever was wrong with TVD, dude wasn't throwing INTs because of the play around him, something like 10 of his 12 were with "clean pockets" according to PFF I believe).

Miami in their 20 seasons since becoming a member of a power conference - 0 titles - 0 ACC titles - 0 top-10 finishes - 1 bowl win in the last 17 years - 7-13 against FSU in the one game on the schedule that fans care enough about to show up for Can anyone name the last time that Miami didn't have a sizable talent advantage over 75+% of their schedule? That's a perennially poorly coached team that serially underperforms and under develops with a fake fanbase who is more active on KZfaq than willing to actually go and support their team. At least when they had Manny, you'd know the defense would give you something. Mario is a jester on the sideline who is out of his element and proven to lose you games because he's really just an OL coach and recruiter.

He has developed into a very good and efficient CFB QB, however. He has improved every year that he has been a starting QB and that's all you can ask for from these young men. I didn't like him when he was the QB of our rival but I always respected the talent. I have great confidence in what Norvell can do with DJ and his tools. I just wish he had more than 1 off-season and regular season with him. It's really not much of a reach to predict next season to be the best statistically of DJ's CFB career. Do better 😂✌🏻

@@clemsonaddict24 First, you made up what you said about DJ having his best year ,statistically, at Clemson. It's not true. His completion percentage was 3 points higher and he threw one more TD than his only year at OSU. Those are the only stats that were higher than his stats during his year with the Beavers. He only had more wins because he played a weaker schedule at Clemson and had a much more talented supporting cast. Yes, usually the ACC is better than the PAC 12 but not last year. The ACC was top heavy last year. According to CFB Film Room, using 2023 metrics, Uiagalelei ranks in the 80th percentile or better in Sack/INT Rate vs. Pressure (12.9%), Boom Percentage (28.8%) and Average Depth of Throw (11.2 yards). The former two stats are particularly important, as QBs avoiding drive-killing mistakes while pressured has proven to be a high indicator of success while the Boom Percentage tracks the percent of plays that generate at least +1 Expected Points Added (essentially a highly successful outcome). Uiagalelei is then in the 60th-70th percentile among qualifying QBs over the last 5 years in 5 more of the categories tracked by CFBFR, he's in the 40th-59th percentile in Completion Rate vs. Pressure, in the 20th-39th percentile in On-Target Rate on throws of 20+ yards, and in the red (0-19th percentile) in On-Targe Rate on throws of 10-19 yards downfield. It's, generally, a very encouraging profile. It's probably the most impressive one of the dozen ACC QBs On the Sack/INT Rate vs. Pressure stat, it's shown to be increasingly important in identifying a trend for possible NFL Draft busts in recent years. Most busts or poor performing NFL QBs had higher rates of having a sack when pressured. Not all QBs with low Pressure-to-Sack rates are guaranteed of success, but the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Jordan Love have P2S% below 20 percent. Of the 19 quarterbacks taken in the first round from 2015-2022 with a college P2S% below 20 percent, 11 (57.9 percent) have signed a second contract with their original team. All that to say that he definitely didn't have his best year at Clemson and he is MUCH better than Klubnik is or probably will ever be. His efficiency numbers suck. His average depth of throw was a measly 6.7 yds (0-19th percentile) and his YPA was even worse at 6.1 yds (also in a 0-19th percentile). Those are pathetic numbers and they paint a picture of a QB that isn't being developed and looks like a dear in the headlights when under any amount of pressure. Also, it's pretty obvious that y'all's coaching staff doesn't trust him, at all

@@brianwilkinson356 bro you just went on a whole deep dive of nothing I never said anything about the NFL or being a better prospect I said how the seasons in college have went. Last year whether or not we went 8-4 (just like Oregon state with a weaker schedule.) DJU is a below average QB and if you think that Klubnik first season was worse then DJU first season you’re INSANE. Bro was throwing screen passes into the dirt 10 games into the season. That’s not a good sign bro. He was dirting screen passes at Oregon state for Christ sake. Klubnik is on a way better trajectory then DJU ever has or will be. Bro has started for 3 college seasons Klubnik for 1 while Klubnik already has more 3+ passing touchdown games then DJ and he’s only 1 or 2, 2+ plus touchdown games behind DJ with 1 starting season compared to 3. The funny thing is I don’t need to go find some ridiculous unnecessary deep dive stats to try and prove my point. It’s all on the top layer of stats. It’s literally right in front of you but you guys. Just see 6’5 250 and bust a nut I guess lol. I wished DJ the best at Oregon state and really hoped he would finally breakout but he’s just not that guy man. Klubnik might not either but his first year showed 1000 times more promise then DJ ever did. Less turnovers is the first big start. And showing the ability to win a ball game too. DJ never ever did that. Still hasn’t. Klubnik did lose a game or 2 for us but DJ lost about 5 I can recall. You can go bring up more meaningless stats all you want while I will keep bringing up the important and realistic stats. So keep trying bro but you just gotta cope harder. Hey, JD. Here's my prediction: DJU at FSU will have a FAR BETTER SEASON than CAM WARD at MIAMI that had only one 10-win season in 20 years (2017).

DJU was going to lose his starting job at Oregon St just like in Clemson. Kid is not a natural passer.

Miami fans haven't seen good football in over 20 years and have the audacity to criticize FSU as part of their annual offseason championship. DJU has definitely been good in each of the last 2 seasons at 2 different stops. 29 total TD to 7 INT at Clemson in 2022 and 27 total TDs to 7 INTs at Oregon State as part of a good offense. Mario has made his QBs trash at every stop. Glad Ward got a check for this year because Mario is about to tank his draft stock.

@@wavepjr6204 that's because you don't watch the sport and just make things up as a stereotypical Miami fan. DJU has more ACC championships than Miami's entire program. If you watched the sport, you'd know that FSU's back up also won more ACC championships last year as a true freshman than Miami's entire program ever has.

@@jaysmith7725 7 point win with 6 true freshman starters and a freshman qb in his second start. Name 1 freshman starter of Karen State. Name 1 freshman all American last year. Miami had 3 & defensive freshman of the year. All your superstars are gone and you didn’t improve your team with the transfers you brought in. Name 1 transfer that is better than the one that left. I’ll start DJU is not better than Travis. ____ is better than Benson,Verse,Bell,Coleman,Wilson,Deloach. See the tread? Wait Fifth State University is a state school that no one picks first to go to just a backup school if they can’t get into any other college. 😂😂😂😂💩💩💩💩
