Hello everyone, I’m back on Assetto Corsa Competizione - and it’s all thanks to you!
Last time out, I couldn’t believe how slow I was in the Coach Dave GT3 Sprint on Low Fuel Motorsport. I was far slower than everyone else on the grid, and I could hardly drive the car. How had I got so bad, so quick?
Well, thanks to you lot, you boosted my confidence by telling me I’d missed the basic tyre pressure setup requirements of the new ACC 1.9 update. I was still setting my tyres at 27.7 psi - not the 26.0 to 27.0 psi that works with the new physics.
So I’m back to try again, and boy… what a difference these changes made! I’m now feeling far more positive after this race at Oulton Park!
Make sure you never miss a race! Hit that 'Subscribe' button and be the first to know whenever I'm racing. If you've enjoyed this Assetto Corsa Competizione gameplay video, please do leave a like - it really helps the channel! Thank you all for watching.

Well I need a lie down, not only a hectic traverse through the field but did I actually witness someone waiting, after punting you 😲 shocking behaviour for ACC. Nice to have your dulcet tones on my feed again, have missed the excitement you bring to racing, you must be doing something right to make me watch an entire ACC race, would usually prefer to watch water evaporate! Top ten finish! That's awesome dude! Really looked like you were in the groove in that one My ACC journey has taken an immediate detour. My T150 pedals won't work on ACC. They work everywhere else though, so it's more troubleshooting than racing for me. Or I could just use this as an excuse to get a new wheel and pedal set 😅
@chrisrogerssimracing
@chrisrogerssimracing Жыл бұрын
Oh no. That seems strange that the pedals won’t work. It’s not like they’re an unrecognised brand or anything. I had a similar issue a while ago with my TM firmware being out of date. The pedals wouldn’t pair up with the wheel… but that issue was across all sims, not just ACC. I removed the TM driver and firmware, and reinstalled everything with the newest versions. But it’s odd that only ACC is causing a problem. Hope you get it sorted!

Had a couple of races around Oulton yesterday. Found my new favourite car, the new Ferrari. One of the easiest cars in ACC to get back into shape if you do get out of shape. Doesn't take too kindly to kerbs, though. First race was a disaster. Started P11 but ended up in the back of someone who got bogged down on the line. Second race started P8, finished P3. First podium on LFM. Still 30 secs behind leader and 13 behind second, but I'll take it.

Brilliant! No podium in LFM comes easy! I’ve still never had one! I’ve heard lots of good things about that new Ferrari, and it’s always well represented on the grids now. Will have to give it a try!
@daviddavies3637
@daviddavies3637 Жыл бұрын
Just rewatched this to get an idea of your pace. It is similar to mine. You can see the Ferrari's weakness at around 7:50 where you closed right up on T1. The driver in front smacked the kerb. I learned to take a slightly wider line and to adjust my line slightly at the chicanes to avoid the raised kerbs.
@chrisrogerssimracing
@chrisrogerssimracing Жыл бұрын
@@daviddavies3637 Yeah, I just did a rare iRacing GT3 race this week, in the Ferrari, and had exactly the same problem. It hated the kerbs! I quite like to take a lot of kerb when cornering, and the BMW certainly feels a bit safer when doing so.

I started to notice a slight loss of grip in the final 5mins of this one, maybe that was tyre degradation. Having learned my sim racing on RaceRoom, I still find it difficult in these other sims where you can’t see tyre wear % on the hud!

@@chrisrogerssimracing It's undoubtedly a tricky balancing act. If anything, I'm in the opposite camp. Your videos demonstrated how much could be gained if I was just a little more cautious. The important question is, are you enjoying being a bit more aggressive?
@chrisrogerssimracing
@chrisrogerssimracing Жыл бұрын
@@davidontherailroad I’m still very much in the cautious camp! I only do 1-2 races a week, so I don’t want to risk ruining them by being reckless. Maybe ‘aggressive’ is the wrong word. I’m trying to be more ‘attacking’ sometimes. Put the driver in front under a bit more pressure, whereas before I’d be happy to sit behind and play it safe. And maybe taking the defensive line a bit more often to try and hold a position. So only very subtle changes to the way I drive. If I feel someone is dangerous, or visibly faster than me, I’ll still be letting them by 🤣

So it's the tyre pressures? I've found the GT3 cars particularly difficult to drive laterely, so that's probably why. Do you know if it applies to GT4 and TCX as well? I tend to be well off the pace anyway and it's my lack of aggression. I need to transform myself into a bit of an animal. Growl!
@chrisrogerssimracing
@chrisrogerssimracing Жыл бұрын
Yeah, tyre pressures make such a huge difference in ACC (way more than any other sim). For the GT3s, you now need to achieve a pressure somewhere between 26.0 psi and 26.9 psi on tyres at race temperature. So in practice, set the pressures a bit lower, and do a few practice laps… after 3-4 laps, you’ll want to see the pressures in that range. GT4 tyre pressures are equally important, but they’re different to the GT3 pressures. I’m not sure what they are since the ACC update, so it’s worth checking online. But if your pressures are too low/high, it’ll take seconds off your times.
