Thank you, it was really helpful. But the net cashflow you calculated for year 3 is wrong. Shouldn’t it be 13,463 instead of 13,163?

John.Ive been trying to use your personal allowance method while solving the sept 2016 hebac co question.But the balancing allowance charge answer is wrong.Can you help me with it?

The allowances in each of the first three years are 625, 469 and 352. Therefore the tax written down value after three years is 2,500 - 625 - 469 - 352 = 1,054. The scrap value is 125 and so there is a balancing allowance in the 4th year of 1054 - 125 = 929
