You lose more $$$ accepting these rides if you plan to come back to the starting point, now if you won't be returning back to the starting point, take it and work the new area. Also when it becomes more about package delivery which is a 'touch' service, Doordash doesn't properly compensate for this service. Even the mileage on your car to do deliveries should be for inner cities $1.50 within a 10-mile radius and $2.00 beyond that. Picking up packages is a entirely different service. Doordash exploits is own platform at the expense of its drivers. That trip should have been at least $256 total. That amount would have cover the driver's cost to come back to start up point. They didn't factor in traffic conditions, environmental dropoff conditions i.e third floor, swamp lands and personal conditions either. Just have to know what you want to do with this.

With my cars gas mileage it costs .17 cents to drive every mile. So that’s $33 worth of gas for $200 bucks. Total is $170 bucks profit for maybe 3-4 hours of driving. Highway miles mostly meaning less wear and tear on engine also. That’s close to $40 per hour. Yea I’ll take it. I’m also Asian so this calculation happened in my head in .0034 seconds while drinking coffee and making a left hand turn while accepting with offer. (Insert Bruce Lee sound)

@@michaelallen2971 I live in Slidell Louisiana almost every market that I deliver in I can average $18-$19 an hour on any given week I've gone as high as $22 an hour on a 25 hour week but if I work a high number of hours I start getting lower and lower offers and there's alot of traffic in some of the zones slowing down delivery times I've gone over $700 earnings Once in 2 years $600 3/4 times $500 at least 50/60 times one of the weeks I worked in Destin Florida it felt like I would easily make $700 but gridlock traffic (thousands of cars thousands and thousands were in a 3 mile stretch for several hours over the weekend) completely destroyed any possibility of $700 and I finished up with $609 instead and went to the beach 🏖️ around 4pm on a Sunday while it was still warm

Although I've heard of people contacting doordash to be enrolled in the large order program due to them having met the criteria. Doordash will either say yes or no

I'd drive that in literally 2.5 hours. 3 max. 6 total. If that happened at the beginning of my day, I'd take it asap no questions asked. If it were in the middle, I'd take it and be done. If it were at night, unless I was geeked or drunk, nah Id decline.

@@poptheweasel87 delivery would be 2.5 hours plus the shopping if being quick and little to no traffic etc. Then travel back 2 hours. That's 4 and a half hours if lucky. Then get gas, chill take a break for a sec, it'd realistically be a 6 hour endeavor.

I live in LA and, based on the delivery by time unless you accept that before 1400 aka 2pm you're not gonna make it to all those stops before 7pm. The traffic from Pasadena to the IE will be at a crawl by 330pm
