However, my love for electronics and understanding how things work led me to try again. Coming from a hardware background, C makes more sense to me."

That's interesting most people find C harder to grasp than Python, but if you're someone that loves electronics and understanding how things work I can see how the opposite is true. :-) I love both, but for completely different reasons. I love C because it is low level enough to force me to understand how things work 'under the hood', but I love Python because the syntax and language design is beautifully "clean". :-)
