Hey, Access team - thanks for featuring my comment on last week's Access Granted! I appreciate the PlayStation Access community coming together to help a fellow gamer out; thanks to all that commented with advice and words of encouragement. I've decided to give TLOU multiplayer another shot in order to get that Platinum, but I'm going to need A LOT of help... my first few matches consisted of zero kills and the majority of deaths for my team (sincere apologies to my teammates); it seems I just don't have the reflexes to keep up with other players yet. If there's anyone in the PlayStation Access community that stills plays TLOU multiplayer, I'd love to get a 4-person team together and dominate; I'm pretty good at rescuing and providing long-range firing support for teammates. We can consider it the PlayStation Access community Platinum trophy (sponsored by Dave). In the meantime, I'll be practicing!

I feel so much for Rob. That sigma of losing in front of your friends becomes the games themselves, and it's so hard to overcome that on your own. I want him to know that I respect him for his sportsmanship and willingness to continue despite the laughter at his expense. Even though I'm across the pond, I'm in your corner all the way.

I'm about 50/50 when it comes to trophy-collecting. Take Ratchet & Clank on PS4 for an example. The first playthrough was a mixture of collectable-hunting and completing the story.

I just wanted to tell you that this channel has inspired me to game more. I’ve always played a little (perhaps one game every other year), but after watching the Friday features and “one on onesie” I’ve started gaming again. I have already completed Uncharted 1&2 and Everybody’s gone to the rapture. I’ve also started playing Uncharted 3 and BioShock (all this is within the last 3 months) and it has all been a blast:) . Keep up the good, and entertaining, work with the videos.

Watching Rob's gamer rage reminds me of my childhood. As a child I had gamer rage that plumbed untold depths of darkness I've yet to reach again. I say again because my mother removed the fog through a clever application of parenting as well as cause and effect. We were arguing, she trying to convince me to just stop, and I was being contrarian as my form of rage and protest. She threatened to take my console away... I continued arguing. After about five minutes of back and forth (with me digging a deeper and deeper hole all the while) She announced "Fine. A year and three months then." I don't know what it was about that comment... But it broke through the fog of rage and I realized she was serious. With a defeated "Okay..." I went to my room, grabbed my console and my games to hand to her. As I handed them over she looked at me and said "Alright then, your console is mine for a year and three months starting today. I just need the console though... You can keep your games." So for a year and three months I was able to sit around looking at all the games I couldn't play. Thus my gamer rage was broken via my mother allowing me to hamstring myself. Excuses Excuses. The only thing to make it flare up for the first time in over a decade was One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 (think Dynasty Warriors with One Piece anime characters). I don't normally go for trophies (I go for trophies based on my interest level in a game) but... Either I am a complete maroon, or a glitch is preventing me from getting 100% on the battle of Marineford. I must have tried 30+ times and I cannot fulfill the requirements for defeating Garp... Consequently destroying all interest I have in getting the remaining trophies and thus, getting the platinum.

genuinely love the craic between the guys (and Holly when she's there) they're british and we're give or take the same age so we share a similar back story makes it easy to relate! keep up the awesome work guys.

I'm a huge trophy hunter, (34 platinums at the moment) and I play through the game first just to enjoy it, I'll pick up the easy trophies along the first playthrough then I'll come at the game again to wrap up any trophies I missed. I do the multiplayer trophies first so I don't have to fight against the emptying lobbies and enjoy the rush of getting the hardest trophies last so the platinum feels so much more well earned.

Dave describing him on Lego games is me in EVERY game. Me and the bf are playing South Park The Stick of Truth atm and I'm driving him mad smashing every parking meter, searching every drawer etc. I... JUST...CANT...STOP

Hey Access Team! Love your channel and everything on it. I have spent many lunches watching these videos and thank you for the fun. You guys inspire me to play more games as I have to battle between my gaming and my “adulting”. Anyways, Access Granted is my favorite series on KZfaq and I really wanted to re-watch them from the beginning (to see Nath rage mostly) and the playlist seems to be incomplete...? It starts with all the stings made and I feel like it might be missing some videos? Is there any way that you can add the earlier ones, or maybe number them or something to that effect? Thanks for the vids guys, keep up the great work.

Call of duty 4 had best moment for me. First one I played and the mission where you're sniping whilst evading guards in chernobyl was so tense and exciting. Definitely my fave COD moment in campaign.

When I was in university, I made a very good friend on the basis initially that we were both gamers. Like the time I joined a band with another guitarist and my skill developed more in 6 months than it had in 6 years, the friendly competition between us drove us to about 60 platinums over the 3 years. In response to your question Dave, when the game release schedule was particularly dense and the competition strong, I would not only check the trophies in advance, I would play on the hardest difficulty the first time through. Since hitting the reality of after education, I started out doing a run without checking trophies to enjoy the game first. My platinum trophy farming days are far away now though, though I did just pass 10,000 trophies earned on the weekend finishing Shadow of War.

Very similar gamer rage story here. Used to have flimsy hollow wooden doors in the house. Playing PES master league one day, AI got the winner in the last second of a big game. I lost it, had to hit something and decided to punch the door. Luckily not all the way thru, but not far off. Had to hide the damage from my parents so for 2/3 years, I had a strategically placed calendar on the back of the door. When all the doors were removed and upgraded to solid pine ones, I made sure I carried that door out to the garage and wouldn't you know but I clumsily dropped it onto a pointy thing!

Hey guys! I've been a fan of the channel and watching for a while. Initially I couldn't understand what's the whole deal with the trophies, but when I purchased my PS4 about a year ago and got my first trophy while playing "Horizon: Zero Dawn" I was HOOKED! I though it was all fun and decided to go for platinums only to discover that I'm not as good a gamer I thought I was. Currently I have two platinums, one in the Batman: the telltale series (Which is shameful, I know!) and the other in Persona 5 (which is the best game ever made!) You guys have inspired me to play and get more platinums! So I'll do just that! If I have the time! Cheers, from your ONLY Israeli fan!

Dave, like you, although I always like to finish games, I’ve never been too bothered about collecting trophies. I only have one platinum trophy to date: Horizon Zero Dawn. I achieved it almost by accident on a single playthrough and as a result of simply enjoying the game to the point where I genuinely wanted to do everything there was to do. In my opinion, it’s a relatively easy platinum to get and definitely one I would recommend now that I’m a one-trophy-veteran and therefore an authority on such things. A couple of the Hunting Ground challenges are pretty tough, but entirely possible and very rewarding once you get them. I’m big fan of the show, by the way. Keep up the good work.

Gaming confession: it's quite an accomplishment when I think about it but when I started Bloodborne I didnt realise you could get a weapon when you went to the dream so I spent about 30 minutes until I managed to beat the beast with just my fists, I then realised that you get a weapon when i died to the first enemy after leaving the clinic, the worst part is that blood starved beast was still harder

What I do before playing games is that I check whether the difficulty affects the trophies (platinuming it) or not. If not I usually play on Medium difficulty, if yes I go straight for the highest difficulty no matter the other trophies. Which often leads into realizing I am not going to platinum the games ever anyway since the rest of the trophies are either super time consuming or missable. Well, at least the games take longer to finish if nothing else! Also I have to admit I find it difficult to start playing video games that have no trophies at all.

Trophy hunting is like wringing out the tea bag into your cup when you pull it out. We're just trying to get every last drop of enjoyment and challenge the game has to offer. I'll agree, the 1st playthrough isn't about trophies at all but immersion into the game and just playing around as much as I want. Then the following run through(s) are for collecting trophies and that glorious Platinum.

Gaming confession: when I was younger, back in the days of PS1, like mossy young kids I often left discs outside of the boxes, my dad would often tell me "make sure you put your discs in a box" this lead to many discs being put into the next game I would play's box I mean it was in "a" box after all... Of course I then got told to make sure my games went in the right boxes. Needless today I have the same pet peeve, if not in the PlayStation my games must be in a box... The right box!

I tend to ignore trophies in my first playthrough. Typically if I look at trophies for a new game, I don't know what half of the trophies mean. Lately I've been taking a look at the trophies about halfway or so through a game (or when I think I may be halfway through) and gauge what is involved to achieve the platinum. I usually like to get as many trophies as I can within my attention span, and ignore the ridiculous ones (1000 jump rope).

So, I’m coming up to my 100th platinum soon. I’ve always liked completing games as much as I can. It used to be because I could only afford a few games so I played them to death. Now, it’s become more a pride or challenge thing, like conquering a mountain I guess. I do though try to play games ‘blind’ first time to just enjoy the story or the atmosphere and then mop up trophies after that. Sometimes I wish I wasn’t such a completionist though as I have less time to play new games!

I feel Robs pain, as me and my friend are now experiencing what we call ‘Rob Syndrome’ where we win the the first few rounds or get the first few kills and then by the end everyone has beaten us or killed us more then we killed them. It really is annoying!

I have collected 12 platinum trophies and I have to say that going for them can (but not always) make games quite annoying / tedious to play. The best example of this was Just Cause 2. I earned that game's platinum, but only after liberating so many settlements and collecting so many items. I enjoyed playing the missions, but going for 75% completion (the last trophy I got) meant I played the game for so long and did so many tedious and repetitive tasks that it left a bad impression of the game for me - but I guess that was sort of my own fault! When I first get a game I will check it's trophies to decide if I will go for the platinum or not. So if it has too many online trophies, I'll usually not bother going for the platinum. But if I decide to go for the platinum, I'll generally start working towards it from the start.

I currently have 16 platinum trophy’s for which I’m proud of “some” of them namely alien isolation and metal gear solid the phantom pain. But I do now have a habit of checking the trophy lists of games before buying them, sometimes even putting me off altogether. One instance I was looking at the trophy list before purchasing horizon zero dawn and because I was looking forward to it so much, I was gutted to see the platinum was going to be a piece of cake, I was just hoping to have a game to take a while to platinum like metal gear did but I have been trying to brake this habit but what can I say, platinum trophy’s are “my precious”

I used to research the trophy list before the game released so I’d know what skills or choices to begin taking from the start. I got to 106 platinum trophies early this year and resigned from it, now it’s all about the story and enjoyment of the game!

To Answer the platinum question, the only games I platinum are final fantasy games as they are my favorite games. If it is a new entry such as FF15, type 0 or world of final fantasy then I will play through the game first and just enjoy the ride then go back and get the platinum and do a second run if necessary. If it is an HD remake of a game I have already played and got 100% in such as FF10, FF12, and FF7 then I just rush through then I look at the trophies and plan a specific route to get the trophies on the first time through

I've been going after trophies for years now (I have 175 platinums) but I too like to play through games just for fun the first time around (unless they're big open world games where 2 playthroughs might be a bit much), then worry about trophies later. It's a shame how many people give up on difficult/time consuming platinums though, there's almost no greater feeling then seeing that platinum pop up after sacrificing so much of your time and sanity to get it.

First time through is always a playthru on Normal difficulty just to enjoy the game the way the developer intended you to play it. If the game feels like its worth another playthru or a look at the trophies after its finished shows that I'm close to the platinum then I go back to pick up the rest of the trophies.

for Platinum trophies i started playing the game first time on a really hard difficulty like uncharted 3 which you need to beat on hard to unlock crushing. it actually makes the game more fun to struggle through instead of breezing through. you only get to appreciate the game when you have to trudge slowly through it admiring the same cutscenes over and over and over......

I always do the hardest difficulty for that trophy first to get it out of the way, then go easy for anything else like collectibles.

Nate and Dave should make a Let's Play series about Dave playing RE7. Rob should team-up with Hollie to play The Evil Within 2. I've tried to think about possible gaming confessions I could make but all I can think of is that how my gaming rage have evolved through the years. I've always been short tempered. NHL-games are the worst. I have broken a few controllers because of them. Because that was beginning to get too expensive to throw, or hit my controller towards something I begun to hit my head against the wall behind me. Got the idea by accident, when it first happened to me. Then the headbanging began to hurt too much so nowadays I just punch my pillow so there won't be any expenses to my gamerage.
