We found out about the 2018 Honda Accord LX 1.5L Turbo being able to have remote start just by programming a key fob!
Will this work on a manual? No
Will this work on any 2017 accord or crv or civic with a regular key? No

Your Honda man, I have a 2018 Honda Accord sport 1.5t but would like to add the blindspot information system (BSI) and heated mirrors to it, do you think I could get an EX or EX-L model mirrors and install them on my sport while updating the system software to get it to work? So I just went to my Honda dealership were I went to buy and program the FOB for my accord sport 1.5T. At first didn’t want to do it and told me I would be liable to pay after they programmed the FOB to my car and it doesn’t work. Finally got them to agree, and 10 minutes later they were all stunned when it work. It was fantastic feeling to see their faces when it worked. Cost were 110 for the key FOB and 65 to program it. Thank you so much for this video and for being honest in helping customers improve the longevity of their vehicles.

Did this on my 2020 Accord LX! April 29, 2024. Still works, did mine at the dealership for 86 bucks + key fob was 50 bucks on ebay. Worth it! If you’re hesitant, don’t be!

Hey can the infotainment system on the lx be changed to that of the ex and exl ? Because the infotainment system on the lx is wack.

Hi everyone looking for some assistance. I have done this on my honda accord 2019 lx but only work after exiting the car and turning it off. I can use the remote start after the period but not later. Have anyone experience this problem? It only works after I enter the car turn it on manually and turn off the car. Than exit and click the remote start and works once that's it. Will not work when I come back later and try to do it.

Thank you, I did my 2018 1.5L Accord Sport yesterday. I bought the fob at Honda Chantilly, Va. for $99 yesterday and then programmed it at Miller Honda in Winchester, Va. they charged $55 to program, great staff!

When you remote start the car. How long does it run? My Dodge will run 20 minutes and then shut off

It’s supposed to run 10 minutes. If you repeat the process while it’s remotely started, it’ll add an additional 10 minutes

I went down to my local dealership and they want $135 for the key. Does it matter if we get the driver 1 or driver two key? In my 1.5 LX I dont have programmable seats I dont think it would matter . What is your intake on this?

I don’t think so. The original keys should still work with the car. When the lease is up and you decide to turn in your lease, just give back the originals and keep the one you programmed. You can probably sell it after :)

Good question. I doubt it will effect the warranty because all you’re adding is another remote and even the original keys will still work.

Honda Accord oh miles of card. Worst service ever. They couldn’t even pull up the part number for the car. Said it wouldn’t even work. Why are people such no it alls and be wrong. So I gotta drive around San Diego looking for a more friendly dealer
