Basically, don’t be surprised if I stop uploading at any time due to needing to take care of other things.
WHY SOME CHARACTERS WERE INCLUDED/NOT INCLUDED:
1) Ema Skye's 2005 theme is not here because she is only an assistant in this game.
2) The SL-9 Incident theme plays very often when characters speak about the event, so I don't find it to act as a character theme.
3) Daryan Crescend just uses Klavier Gavin's theme, so I don't quite associate the theme with him.
4) Shi-Long Lang and Shih-na are included because they are interpol agents, which is similar to detectives -- just on an international scale. Some people may think I shouldn’t include the theme for Shih-na, but it does play for her in Case 5.
5) Elegance and Excellence is a theme most people associate with Jezaille Brett, but it acts as a “People” theme and plays for Satoru Hosonaga as well.
6) Ema Skye’s 2016 theme is included because she still plays a role similar to a detective, even though she works in the forensics department now.

Gumshoe's AAI theme makes me so emotional for some reason, especially given the title of it. It suits him so much and really emphasizes the fact that even though he's kind of a bumbling (but lovable) idiot, which edgeworth often ridicules him about in the game, he has a huge heart and will come through for those he cares about, no matter what it takes

I always associate Elegance and Excellence with Jezail Brett honestly, I think the first time you hear it is with her and it just suits her a lot more imo, so it always feels weird when it plays for Hosonaga. I really wish he just got his own theme

Actually, Elegance and Excellence plays for 2 different characters. Jezaille Brett and William Shamspeare. I'm pretty sure that Hosonaga doesn't have a theme associated with him.

Comparing 2001 and 2009's detective theme for Gumshoe, I would say 2009 is the most fitting theme for Gumshoe. Shows that he came a long way to redeem himself as one of the best detectives in the Ace Attorney Franchise. Edgeworth may be cold to him, and Franziska may have whipped him so many times, but Gumshoe persevered through ups and downs, always out there lending a helping hand. Spoilers ahead . . . . . . . . . . . . I would say the final case in AAI2 would have been difficult to accomplish without the help of Gumshoe. Remember Edgeworth was no longer a prosecutor? He did investigations *on his own* and brought in some key information which can help Edgeworth with the case. He even agreed to help Edgeworth after he was practically begging Gumshoe. >< Oh and yes, Gumshoe has a salary raise

That whole series actually. Gumshoe just does so many things right off screen. Giving Edgeworth very specific reports that even sometimes he didn't ask or maybe starting things before Edgeworth even asks or finding random stuff thar actually break the case.

When you're too early that the chapters are all Sholmes 💀💀💀 IMPORTANT EDIT: Kazuya Nuri, the character designer for TGAA mentioned that Sholmes motif is a cogwheel while Iris has the flower motif. But if you look at Sholmes' sleeve you can see the cogwheel protecting the flower!!!

seeing as how no one at the police department suspected him, its safe to say that the phantom got hid mannerisms down pat. so its rly sad that he was a genuinely great, nice detective who we never really got to meet

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles *MAJOR SPOILER* (especially the 2nd game so beware): Dude, it really hurts when Gina told everyone that her mentor has died. I never anticipated any of the main cast to die in these game, especially since I really like Gregson as a police detective just like Gumshoe, and he's not just there for only 1 chapter so him being a victim is really surprising (not for some people, I presume) So everytime I hear his theme, my soul just got crushed once again, poor Gina will never say thanks for his help ever again

I love how gumshoe start the series as a antagonist, not telling you anything, but every time you encounter him he is frendlier, until he goes "Hey pal, going agaist my boss again? he has a witness, wich may or may not be the guy in the next room." detective gumshoe may not be the smartest or realible not even a very good detective at all, but every time he apears i love him.

I love everyone here, and all their music. But Gregson's theme will always be my absolute favorite of the detective themes. It is so ridiculously uplifting, and the beat is just so wonderful to follow. I haven't heard it since the duology came out in the west, and I can still maintain right alongside it.

We really don't. The last thing we need in the mainline games is more characters from old games returning for pure fanservice. We already have Phoenix, Edgeworth and Maya. Larry was just for 1 DLC case and Ema made sense, so those were fine, but the other 3 are only there because they're fan favorites. Mainline AA already has a bloated cast, they shouldn't make it worse.

Having major problems is the key to being a good detective in ace attorney: It took Ema 12 years to become a forensics investigator Angela lost her job Hosonoga doesn't have his own theme Gumshoe keeps getting his salary cutten Atmey and Gant are arrested Fulbright,goodman and Gregson are fucking dead

I’m so glad they did not change Gina Lestrade’s name, same with Tobias Gregson! It’s been weird reading all of the characters’ names again with the localization vs the fan translation

Well, Lestrade and Gregson are from the Holmes novels, and it seems the Conan Doyle estate is only bitchy about Holmes and Watson. So, no reason to change them, and every reason not to. Knowing that Holmes is in this game, listening to Lord Strongheart introduce a Scotland Yard detective, naturally the player is going to assume they're about to meet Inspector Lestrade. But no. It's Gregson, a minor *other* detective from Holmes canon. Which makes Gina's self-introduction as "Inspector Lestrade" that much more satisfying, since Gina's really taken the lessons she learned from "Unspeakable Story" to heart, and we can check off that part of the "Major Sherlock Holmes characters" checklist.

@@jedimasterpickle3 You’re right, I forgot that the namesake is based in the actual characters from the stories. I was just mildly annoyed at how other characters that the fans have known for years before the localization were changed like Hart Vortex being changed to Mael Strongheart (SPOILERS: you can hear the audience chant his Vortex name in the final case)

@@Samstar369 Fair enough, though personally I prefer the localized names. Recently replayed with a friend using the Japanese voices and I did notice the "Vortex" chant. I'll have to go back to see if it was changed to "Strongheart" for the English track.

Only a top 5 for list for now SPOILER ALERT: MY #1 THEME AND EXPLANATION CONTAIN DGS2 SPOILERS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. This is all my opinion, if I don't have your favorite theme on this list don't murder me please- 5. Ema Skye: Scientific Detective- I really like this theme, it suits Ema well. The upbeat energy it brings in the beginning is immaculate, and the middle shows how she's matured. 8.5/10 4. Bobby Fulbright: Our Secret Word Is Justice! Tell me this isn't a banger, *I dare you.* 9/10 Because the trumpet really be putting in work. I don't really think anything else needs to be said. 3. Sherlock Holmes: Detective of the Foggy Town- It's so classy and peppy at the same time, really Holmes-like. You can just feel the silliness from it, but it still manages to keep that class. 9.3/10 2- Dick Gumshoe: It's Detective Gumshoe- Gumshoe really deserves better. #JusticeForGumshoe #RaiseHisDamnSalaryEdgey Anyway, the theme is a 9.5 because I said so. Don't question it 🙃 Honorable mentions (There are 3) Dick Gumshoe: I Can Do It When It Counts, Pal! (8.5/10 Because this is more thematic for Gumshoe than his other theme imo, but I like the other one as far as vibing goes.) Tyrell Badd: The Truth Isn't Sweet- I didn't like this theme at first, but it did grow on me and now it's one of my favorites. The middle part of the song is just really exemplary. 8.2/10 Tobias Gregson: Enemy of The Great Detective- Calm, foreboding, and so sooo good... It's really too bad I don't think it suits him well. 8.5/10. And our #1 Theme is... (YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, THIS IS SPOILER TERRITORY. IT'S THE LAST THEME OF THE VIDEO.) Gina Lestrade: Blast From The East End- (I like Messenger From The Slums as a theme name more lol) Simply amazing. It's fun, peppy, has a slight touch of edge, and it goes so well with her! You can feel the theme just brimming with energy and unbridled excitement. Or maybe that's just me, who knows? 9.9/10
