@wigimonster89095 ай бұрын
In a recent interview for Billboard Magazine Ace stated that Steve Brown would come up with the solos. Ace would then track over it, duplicate it, or on two songs he just kept Browns solo as is. So yeah the magic is really in Browns fingers on this album sadly.

I wish he'd record more songs like this. This is a nice tempo. I've seen some live shows lately and he has really slowed down the tempo live on many songs. I know he doesn't have anything to prove, I just wish he'd practice with his band more before playing shows. I also know that yes, age is a factor but he doesn't seem really into it on the last few clips of recent shows. I'm not knocking him. He was a hero for a long time. His music got me through some really dark times and for being able to see him live 4 times over the years I am grateful. I'm just giving my honest opinion. Thank God after all he's gone through he's still playing and recording new music. I really dig this tune, 10,000 volts, and stratosphere and I wish him success and good health. He will forever be one of my favorite guitar players. Peace ✌️

I hope he practices more as far as playing live. I love Ace and this song and 10,000 volts are the best songs for me so far. I've just watched some shows of Ace lately and he is not playing as well live as he used to. I know age is a factor and it's not his singing. I've always thought Ace had a cool voice. He just seems like he's so bored and going through the motions in the last couple of shows I've watched. They aren't playing the older songs at the correct tempo and it sounds like it's dragging live. Like I said, I've been listening to Ace since I was 7. I'm 52 now and I've seen Ace 4 times. In 1990 in VA, 1993/4 in upstate NY, at MSG with Kiss in 1996 and also the PC tour. I know we all get old and I will always be an Ace fan. I'm just giving my honest assessment of what I've heard so far. 👍

The problem with the album is the lack of great solos. This song is no exception. I feel this song has much greater potential if it had a better outro solo effort.
@Wyl75 ай бұрын
and even though the solo in this one is pretty much straight from a Kiss song (embarrassingly enough I’m blanking out on which one), if you listen close you can hear the little breaks… telltale signs that it’s multiple takes pieced together rather than played all the way through. Unfortunately, I think my Ace Frehley nostalgia glasses are broken at this point. I can’t listen to most of what he’s doing anymore and convince myself it’s good.
@j.reveille68155 ай бұрын
@@Wyl7 dude his vibrato and sweetness is still there. Keep listening these solos will sound better and better they are melodic fits the tune solos with a little Ace rip here and there. Enjoy he is 72. Still doing it.
