I was at this show. The band was tight! I think the best quote I heard was from one of the tech crew that I know there. She said, "Sound check was incredible.....and then Ace showed up".

Paul was right, Ace don't like to rehearse anything.

Ace has a kick ass band behind him and Ace is just Ace and always has been.

This is only my opinion. I'd call this an average performance that feels more like a rehearsal masquerading as a 1st show of a tour. It feels like these paid guns are doing everything they can to make Ace's songs work. I give them credit for keeping it afloat. But...boy. I come from a school of thought where the legend in the center (whos "still got it", as they enter their twilight) anchors the tune with... lets call it "weathered mastery" and the people around him take it to another level. It seems to me Ace's ethos is true to his live show- lazy, flashy, and fun. He gets the crowd into it, he highlights the night with hits and his brand new single, but musically, he's all over the place and vocally, I'm sorry, but I just don't believe his words nor his pitches. I get it. Rock n' roll doesn't need to be precise. It should be a little rough around the edges. That what keeps it exciting, when it almost goes off the rails and it feels like something's being said. But I also think you should continue to hone your craft and hopefully keep trying to reach for something new, with a wisdom and focus you can only achieve by challenging yourself. Perhaps he has in ways I'm not hip to. It doesn't reflect so in this one. What I feel from this show is a guy who's charming, care-free, and has made some positive changes for himself, but hasnt been sharpening his sword in the process. I think its important to have both. I'll admit I'm a little biased, but I think everyone can agree, theres more work to be done. And I have to say this- I've listened to his interviews these past few years and feel hes been more focused on being a victim, then taking ownership for his ability. I can understand his frustration, but not how he expresses it. I guess I had hoped he'd reach the opposite perspective, finding humility and taking ownership such as bands like Metallica, The Mars Volta or Blink 182 have. Oh well. I still adore the "Detroit Rock City" duel guitar solos. - Thanks for posting this concert man!

Vocals and playing needs a lil polishing, but considering hes pushing 73 yrs old and killed half his brain cells in the70s i got huge respect 🙌🙌 hes a ripper for sure 👍

IMPORTANT - Let's get something crystal clear. I gave ACE a hard time on KZfaq over the years. I wish he would have kept his sh!t together and created more music with Kiss. But at the end of the day, this man is my guitar hero. There is no KISS without ACE. Hope to see him on tour soon.

Man, I was there and, the guy played his ass off it was very entertaining and, he was very pleasant and polite especially to the two little girls by the stage but, his band can sing very well, Ace can still play at 72 and, he admitted that his voice wasn’t the best

Drummer is a beast, this band really carries him, no matter how hard he works at dragging all the songs.

If you harness the energy of Ace's vocals you can toast a piece of bread. Very lightly.

So happy to see this concert. Ace is Mr Rock n Roll and now I got the feelings that we had when we heard Kiss in the 70th, that real hard Rock n Roll. That amazing sound and hard style. Great band!

I seen this guy back in 1975 with KISS and had a smile on my face the entire time, now 49 years later i am practically in tears! I actually feel embarrased for him! This is tragic in every way imaginable! This was not just a "Off night" by any means and clearly it is waaayyy past that time where you just hang it up and accept who you once were.

I'd pay a couple hundred bucks to play my backyard party.

Shock Me solo was fairly decent, if he keeps up on that 2024 resolution of practicing guitar more he might be a little better by the end of the year

At least it only lasted 45 minuets to give the poeple that were there a chance to go see a show somewhere else.

I love Ace but this is getting ridiculous with everyone saying he's been off the road or his voice wasn't good that night. It's called Practice. Does he not have any band rehearsal before going out to play these dates? If he does, then it truly is over.

Wow...that sounded like what I would hear from some local band at a county fair....100,000 Volts is a great studio song, sounded like total garbage live...that should tell you something.

This is great! In a world where a majority of artists are using autotune and/or prerecorded tracks and faking it, this 70+ year old player is still kicking ass raw and live. A few rough edges? He could tighten it up a bit. Whatever. Sounds great to me. Especially for an audience recording. (This isn't a "soundboard" folks.) Would love to have been there. Rock on, Ace! Can't wait for the new record!

Is it me or am I imagining things? The way Ace came out almost reminded me of a little kid interrupting his nap time. He basically has a bored look on him. You would think a performer who has a pretty good following and a well known name and background to boot would be more excited.

I was there too at the Grand Theater last night. It's been about 45 years since I was really a KISS fan, but it was a great show and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Really impressive that he can still rock so hard at 72. The awesome backing band--especially that incredible drummer--also added a lot.

It's not what I expected. But Ace gave "HIS" best. And he loves KISS❤. No matter what he says, he honors Paul by performing his "Detroit Rock City" and the Paul/Gene anthem "Rock and Roll All Nite". Ace still wants to be forever KISS. Good guy. But more dead than ALIVE!

One other comment I want to make about this is that if this video was not chopped up and only certain songs were played I am disappointed.This is Ace's concert not kiss. Ace is playing nothing but a lot of kiss songs instead of his songs and if that's all ace is doing is promoting old kiss music instead of his new album there's no way I want to put any money towards seeing him I really just want to see him and him playing his music maybe dabble in just a little of the past but just him singing lead on the songs that he sang while with kiss.

Not understanding why the songs sound slow and sluggish. The timing is horribly inaccurate - did the drummer even listen to the source material? Maybe it's the drum triggers? The guitarists keep looking at the drummer who's literally staring off playing whatever he wants. Not that it could really help the cringe guitar player standing in front of Ace mouthing the words to the songs.

I like Ace, spaceinvader is my favorite album that he has done. Kiss was all about the show and the spectacle thats why they became so big but this is such a low butget show with that wrinkled shower curtain in the backgrund. Maybe if he had a screen with different images instead and a better light show might help it. Wonder if there was anyone there under 40.

50 years of performing, drugs, alcohol and being CONSTANTLY shit on by Gene and Paul, has taken its toll. I still dig him though. Ace made KISS. And Gene and Paul should be kissing his ass. Ace has put out album after album over the years, and KISS has been constantly "retiring" like old whores. I've always loved Ace, but I wouldn't go see this show, sadly. Also $1,000.00 to sign my Gibson Les Paul is a Gene Simmons move. Even the "cheap" package of $500.00 is ridiculous. But hey, get it if you can Ace. This show is 100% Ace. Not singing into the mic about 60% of the time, semi-killer on the guitar, sounding like it's the 3rd time ever that they've all played it together. Thank you Neal for posting this. Saved me about $2,000 in travel, (flight, hotel), tickets, VIP signing, etc.

Ace has still got it, great guitar 🎸 Playing, I do believe he would play off the charts & into orbit if he hired a Pro singer. It's missing that little bit more push of energy that he would get from a Lead singer who knows how to direct Aces songs & Vibe into the audience . Another thing the drummer is hot & cranked, but Ace is not connecting Vocaly with the drummer, so again Energy & Vibe is lost. Thanks Ace for writing & bringing back Rock the way it should be..😊

for god sake hang it up! i keep opening these thinking it cant get worse. how can you screw up communication break down and how many more times. been playing rock n roll all night for forty years and cant remember it. i love ace but there's no defending this its beyond terrible. watch the band they're. trying to cover the best they can. the solo sounded like a bad day at guitar center. if you think he can still play find a guitar teacher who s never heard of kiss and play this for him. hell tell you the truth. hes a legendary guitarist that had great stage presence and his leads were great 25 years ago. he cant play or sing anymore make all the excuses you want this is proof
