I've read a LOT about all this. The Ratings Agencies got away with Murder . Out of pure greed for the fees they rated Bonds AAA which at their very best might rate B . And all the trouble came from that .

As far as board members and chief executives of banks involved in the subprime crisis go, Ace Greenberg seems to have done the best job out of any of them taking responsibility and admitting that bear Stearns made mistakes.
